Fashionable hunter bits

What are the most common hunter bit types these days? I am aware that the bit itself has many many different functions–I’m talking about the side pieces–full cheeks, loose rings, D bits, etc. I am doing a horse art piece and would like to know what is fashionable in the hunter ring today. Back in the dark ages when I started showing, full cheeks were the general go-to pieces. Today it seems that D rings are most common. Can someone help me out? TIA!

The D ring snaffles are pretty popular on hunters these days, although occasionally you see other bits as well.

This article from the big hunter derby final last month in Kentucky shows D bits in all the pictures except for one lone full cheek snaffle at the end.

Perfect. Just what I wanted to know. Many thanks!

You’re welcome.
