Interested to see what Bubble Rock goes for.
Sheâs lovely. So many nice mares in the sale. Really needs her feet done though.
$1.5m
He sure does.
Bless his heart, it canât be easy for the weaners. Especially coming in after his mom.
Goodnight Olive
This should be good!
Hammer at $6M
6M for Goodnight Olive.
Faiza $4M to GODOLPHIN
Also missed Sauterne $4M to Navrick
John Stewart bought Goodnight Olive.
Heâs picked up quite a few tonight as well.
Yes indeed.
I can only imagine the whinnying with all of those weaners in the barns today.
Stewart has bought a satellite farm of Darley and is launching a breed-to-race operation. Reminiscent of Satish Sanan/Padua back in the early 2000s. (Side note - Sanan was a complete newcomer to racing and bloodstock. As an outsider, he got cheated, or at least alleged that he was cheated, on several million+ dollar horse deals and ultimately left the business. I believe he was the motivating force behind the new rules requiring disclosure of dual agency in Thoroughbred sales).
I expect that the usual FB crowd that expects Mandy Pope (who I donât see on the list of last nightâs buyers) to ârescueâ top racemares from being sold overseas will now turn its focus to Mr. Stewart.
Any idea who owns, is behind DM Racing Ventures?
They purchased Moira, but havenât been able to find out much about them.
Thanks for the updates-are any of these wonderful race mares expected to race next year or will they go to the breeding shed?
What time does the sale start today?
Fasig Tipton finished last night.
Keeneland started today. Link to live coverage:

Edited because autocorrect went from âFasigâ to âFastingâ
Jess Jackson played an integral part in getting the Dual Agency (and other provisions) bill passed in Kentucky regarding TB sales.
Stewart is in the process of buying 2 Shadwell properties. The Darley property is still on the market.
Satish Sanan built a state-of-the-art farm and training center in Florda for D.Wayne Lukas. He later found out that heâd been cheated on a number of deals with the trainer. He made that information public but didnât press charges. (What are the similarities between him and John Stewart?)
The man who was the motivating force behind the dual agency laws in Kentucky and Florida was Jess Jackson.
TY for the corrections as I was relying solely upon memory.
Stewart is going big into the sport, not unlike Sanan. Thatâs why I drew the parallel; both spent tremendously at the sales (Sanan in yearlings and 2yo) at the outset. Thatâs all.
I love seeing people who have lots of âfun moneyâ spend it on Thoroughbreds. I look forward to seeing what Mr. Stewartâs investments produce and wish him the best.
