My birthday is in 2 weeks and if anyone is looking for a present, I’ll gladly take this one as a donation
She sells in the NY Bred portion
Hip 312 FT NY Bred Sale Mandaloun - Midnight Girl on Vimeo
Not only is she a pretty filly, but it’s amazing how much she resembles her sire.
I noticed there is a few Mandalouns in the sale for August. They are all pretty nice.
At quick glance I thought chestnut, then saw the black points. Then saw her walking video from her right side–a very bright bay!
Thanks for the reminder. I didn’t put it on my calendar this year.
Someone on facebook was admiring this colt at the sale. It’s unbelievable to me that he is just 1 1/2 years old. What do the sales agents do to get them looking like this?? Would never have guessed correctly at his age.
The Blake Albina group is very well turned out, they are all consistently very nice. I think what you are seeing is starting with a good one then followed up by nutrition and an exercise regimen
I seem to recall reading somewhere that they are walked up to 10 miles per day. That will muscle them up. Often, too, they are fat. Fat hides a multitude of conformational sins.
Editing to add, not necessarily referring to the colt pictured.
Yep. Many of them seem to carry just that bit of extra weight that smooths things out.
Granted it won’t hide major flaws, leg issues or hide things in the walking video, but definitely makes them look better at first glance.
For anyone who is interested in watching the sale live, it starts tonight at 6:30 (EDT) and can be viewed here:
Just looking at the catalog. As usual some well bred good looking yearlings. Should be fun!
How exciting to see the line of your homebred represented at the Saratoga sale!
There are 2 close relatives of ours in the sale. Hips #30 and #51 are both out of daughters of Shriek.
I think hip #7 will be very popular. Breeding + Physical.
Good looking colt @LaurieB. You must be pleased. Congratulations . Not many breeders see their dam lines producing Saratoga yearlings.
