Fasig Tipton Saratoga

Bobby Flay has an amazing breeding program. He’s bought many wonderful mares, both in the U.S. and Europe, and he breeds them to the best stallions. He usually sells all his colts, but he often keeps a nice filly to race.

Pizza Bianca, with whom he won a Breeders Cup race, was a homebred of his, by an Australian sire (Fastnet Rock) out of an Irish-bred mare by Galileo.

Didn’t he breed one that won a Classic race for him? Maybe the Oaks or a Breeders Cup race?

Flay won a G1 Breeders cup filly race with Pizza Bianca who was bred by him.
He sold her in foal to Into Mischief for 3M.

My favorite filly in the sale, Hip 38, went for 750k to Steven Young, acting as agent for an undisclosed buyer. She was such a pretty mover-looked like you could braid her up and take her right to Devon to show on the line. Hope she has a wonderful, safe career.

I think if you had 100k to drop on a yearling for the sale, you could walk away with a really really nice horse from the bottom end of the sale.

The cheapest one of the sale was a $80,000 Olympiad filly out of Determined Truth.

Second cheapest was a $90,000 Mandaloun out of Lucky Stride. His dam had 10 wins out of 20 starts. Maybe not the deepest pedigree but a nice colt to have some fun with

Third cheapest was a $100,000 Youpon out of Bagh of Jewelz.

Next was a 100,000 Olympiad out of Gold Beach -he has all the chrome in the world. His dam is a sister to Normandy Invasion and one of her foals produced Quip.

For 125,000 you could have a typey Jackie’s Warrior out of Conway Two Step.

Madaket picked up a really nice City of Light filly for only 130k post-sale. She is nicer in her video than in her photo, I think

I really liked this Corniche filly that went for 150,000. She was out of Dontwasterurpretty

Any yearling that makes it into this sale is going to have a good pedigree and physical, no matter what price they bring . That’s what makes it such a fun sale to watch. :slightly_smiling_face:

Yes, definitely a boutique sale. I really feel for the sellers of the low-end yearlings–probably lost a lot of money, between stud fees and costs of raising.

spotted this filly in the catalog selling near the end today. Not by the most desirable stallion out there or out of the most ritzy mare, third dam was Canadian Broodmare of the Year.

She’s pretty, maybe a little narrow through her chest and not crazy big or mature; but I like her
