The catalog for the FT November sale is up. The names read like a who’s who of 2020 TB racing.
@LaurieB going to go shopping??
I haven’t looked at the catalogs but seems like F-T has scored probably a larger group of the top mares…
Will be interesting to see who picks them up.
Nope. We’re full up. I’ll be watching instead.
It will be interesting to see who is buying this year. Godolphin hasn’t been very active at the yearling sales this year, but of course they have their homebreds. (Unfortunately the entire UAE Federation has once again been suspended by the FEI for flagrantly violating horse welfare and other rules, though It doesn’t affect racing in any manner.)
Hopefully the Japanese breeders will attend or have their agents here.
As much as some people complain (usually those not in the TB industry) about breeding stock going to Japan, Japan does support U.S. breeders and U.S. breeders need all the support they can get.
There are some very well bred weaners in both sales.
Godolphin makes a liar of me and buys four expensive yearlings at Tattersalls.
Will be interesting for the November sales (like F-T) to see where the focus and money is (and yes, two different targeted buyers potentially)… the yearlings or the racing/breeding stock horses.
There aren’t any yearlings in the November sales, only weaners, mares and a stallion or two.
Duhhh, I was interjecting a year in those weaner (thinking yearling but not).
Too many other things are going on my desktop :o
Yeah- but those are serious yearlings for BIG money!
Very disappointing to see little evidence of COVID precautions at the OBS. No social distancing in the back ring and many without masks. Ring handlers without masks being handed horses by grooms without masks.
Keeneland and F.T. were very diligent.
Florida presently has “escalating community spread” of the virus with an average of over 2,500 new cases per day.
Fasig Tipton October Yearlings is on day two. Gun Runner has some really nice yearlings.
The bids offered for some of these horses must break their breeder’s hearts.
Yes, I saw him. Thanks.
