Favorite breeches for a curvier body type?

I have a pair of these! Could I live in them? No. They are not the most comfortable. But I’ve never in my life found a pair of pants that make my butt look so small and perky :joy: I truly can’t comprehend the physics behind these breeches. I actually looked to see if Romfh sold a pair of jeans because I would love to extend this amazing technology to denim.

Okay, I tried the free rides and I absolutely LOVE them. They fit perfectly, they are so so comfortable, and the look is actually very nice for pants that feel like leggings. Thank you!!!

This is legitimately the exact issue that I have. Everything that fits in the legs is about 2-3 inches too big in the waist. So in theory I could just have certain breeches tailored to fit better in the waist and I could be perfectly content.
The Dover Saddlery Wellesley Breeches specifically are about 4-5 inches too big in the waist, and they are one size smaller than I normally wear :joy: it’s just all over the place.
But yes I agree with your statement confusing bigger bodies versus an actual body shape.

The best I have found for that exact body type and size are the KL Select Gabrielle. They are so flattering I wear them around even if I am not riding, and not slippery etc. I do love the Romfh Sarafina too.

I have discovered this is true even of breeches manufacturers. A friend recently recommended the Dover Tech Nova line to me. They have two cuts of basically the same fabric and features, one called Wellseley and one called Dalton. The Dalton is described as “athletic slim fit,” and the Wellesley “cut in a curvier fit.”

I went to the store to try these on, and the Wellesley are significantly larger in the waist for the same size leg.

Definition of curvy is important…

overall “not thin” (perhaps apple shape or something) vs significant difference between waist and hip. My reccos will differ depending on which type of curvy you’re asking for. Seems like you’re like me in the difference is significant between hip and waist. I hear you!

I have a 10 inch difference between waist and hip that thankfully is consistently 10 inches even when I gain weight. E.g. 2019 me was a 26/27 waist and a 36/37 hip. Me during my pandemic cheese eating era was a 30 waist and 40 hip. I am also tall - 5’9.

YMMV, but I find my hip to waist ratio really annoying to fit and I just typically end up trying EVERYTHING ON. I just bought a pair of PS Sweden breeches not tights and a ES Stockholm pair. I find the Scandi brands fit me nicely.

I also like Struck a lot, but lots of folks don’t like their true mid-rise. I love they have 27s & other “odd numbers” which allows the fit to be very specific
