Favorite breeches for someone with no defined waist?

I know I’ve posted before but I’m praying there’s some new miracle breech on the market that would freakin fit me.

I am 5’9, about 165 lbs, all my weight is in my stomach and I have zero waist to speak of. Also no booty. I have tried about 100 pairs of breeches over the years and they ALL fall down (no matter what the rise) and sag in the butt. Is there any pair of breeches out there that is cut to fit a larger tummy but smaller booty and doesn’t nip in at the waist (since there is no waist here to nip in at)? I realize this is asking for a lot. I’m desperate as my B Vertigo’s are creeping down my legs now as I am just sitting here.

Thank you for any tips!

How about this? I know, not funny. Shopping for breeches is the worst

Might be easier just to take your 100 pairs to a tailor and have them fitted properly. It’s usually 10-15.00 a pair to have fitted.

I’m 5’9" and the NUMBER ONE reason breeches fall down on me? They’re too short. A higher rise and longer length keeps everything from pulling down to try to get the articulation where it was designed to sit. If you’re not wearing a long in brands that make them, it may be worth trying.

Also, I know it’s silly and obvious, but I never ride without a belt. Even on the best fitting breeches I have, if I forget a belt they slip down a bit (I also have no butt ). No belt + phone in pocket while walking around the barn = yanking my pants up all day.

Good luck - the tailor idea someone posted above might just be the trick, if the breeches are the right cut, length, and fabric to be able to be altered!

I have a similar build and totally sympathize on breech shopping!

I find having the waistband hit right above my hips works best (mid rise or modified midrise). Any of the cute trendy high rise breeches will just slowly slide down on me and end up at my hips anyway. It’s not a good look  I also wear a belt almost all the time.

My current favorite is the Samshield Diane/Adele (same breech, Diane is full seat, Adele is knee patch). They have pleats on the back that really seem to make a difference.

I’ve also had good success with Struck 50s/55s. And the super stretchy hybrids with belt loops like Free Ride also work as long as I don’t try to put a phone in the pocket. Any weight in the pocket and they slide as well.

I find that my lower rise breeches (Equiline and Cavalleria Toscana) always fall down on me. I’m 5’8 and about 150lbs with kind of a butt and kind of a waist.

Maybe it’s the rise? (FWIW I second Strucks and also like my Samshield Adele’s)

Thank you guys so much for the ideas, the chuckles and everything else! I really appreciate you all chiming in! I have never tried the Samshields or Strucks…I may have to splurge just to see! I’m glad I’m not completely
alone in this :joy::joy:

I’ve found that the elastic belts are helpful.

If you can, buy in Europe! They’re half the price, it’s crazy. I haven’t found Strucks in Europe, but it’s a Canadian company. Maybe try ordering from Canada? Of course this all only matters if you’re in the states :joy:

Struck breeches stay up! I’m the same shape, and love them. The waistband has a thin rubber coating that grips your shirt to keep it tucked and it assists in holding the breeches in place too.

I just ordered a pair of Strucks…I am so excited that they come in “in between” sizes so I am trying my normal jeans size to see if that fits any better than my usual breeches do. I shall report back!

I"m an apple shape and my waist is the same size as my hips. High rise is a necessity. My go to right now are the Romfh Sarafina and honestly the Dover brand, for whatever reason they both fit me well.

I second Samshield. I often say that I am built like SpongeBob SquarePants as I have no waist to even hint at and Sammies fit well and are super comfy. They also have silicone in the waistband to help stop from sliding.

Pikeur Ciara’s were my go to, and I really like the Ego-7 breeches actually. I have zero waist or butt, and have found those to be the only ones that fit decently.

This is coming to an end soon (luckily for local U.S. tack stores). Struck is Canadian, so not available in Europe nor cheaper in Canada. But I second the Struck recommendation—they’re my faves! I find the Samshields to be too “stretchy” and bag out.

I usually order mens breeches. They seem to fit my long legs, no butt and no waist type body. The only confusing part for me is the zipper and snap close the “wrong” way LOL!

What do you mean? Breeches are going to cost more in Europe soon? Or get cheaper here (but that never happens)?

Cost what they should in Europe. Manufacturers have previously not imposed the same pricing restrictions on European retailers that they do for American stores, allowing these stores to grossly undercut their US counterparts. We’ve seen some of this already—e.g., Fundis’s once very low Equiline pricing is now “normal”—but other brands will be following suit soon.

PSA Samshield is made in China. For $400, that is ridiculous.
