Favorite coolers (with neck cover) that don't generate static?

I’ve amassed quite a collection of synthetic or synthetic blend coolers and quarter sheets only to realize too late the horrors of shocking my horse every time I go to touch her in the winter (to the point where she looks at me skeptically whenever I walk into the stall). I’ve tried the anti-static sprays to no success. I’ve been told real wool will not generate static, and is better for warmth and wicking anyway. However, real wool has been hard to find in the square style (i.e., poll to tail draping). Does anyone have any favorites that are either 100% wool or a wool blend that does not get staticky? Bonus points if it can also be converted to a fitted sheet style like this: https://shop.horseware.com/product/r…preme-no-fill/ (I recognize this is not a square draping style, so I’m open to a fitted option, too.)

I’ve never seen a wool cooler with neck cover.

If you want head to tail draping you can source a large old pure wool bed blanket at a thrift store. I believe you can get lightweight surcingles that could work as a belly strap.

Saratoga Horseworks does a big, slightly contoured variant on the square walking cooler. I have had several of their wools and recommend them, and the company is great to deal with.

I have this wool blend one with neck from Schneider’s and am quite satisfied with it. I have their wool blend quarter sheet too. https://www.sstack.com/dura-tech-contour-wool-blend-cooler/p/15644/

I also have the sstack wool cooler, I love it! No static and wicks amazingly, you can put it on a wet horse after a bath and see the water bead up on the outside! I expect it last near forever and I actually like the contour better than the old square style. But I do buy old wool coolers on eBay and use them for outdoor patio blankets so you can find many there for $20 or less.

Thanks all! I ordered the wool blend from Schneiders and I’m very excited as it looks exactly like what I was looking for! I really appreciate the insights as I find it hard to know if wool blends are more like wool or more like their synthetic blends as far as static goes (sourcing on ebay can be difficult for this reason).

The Saratoga Horseworks also looks amazing - and I’m sure it is for that price point - but the Schneiders price point was more palatable. Thanks again!

 I can imagine. I do find their products to be well-priced for the quality but you definitely get an easier experience for your wallet buying a wool blend. I’m glad you found what you were looking for!
