Favorite fleece halters with breakaway?

Miss Mare, in her summer glory, is really prone to rubs on her face from halters. Due to limitations of the facility we are at, taking halters off for turn-out is not an option (it’s my preferred answer but unfortunately not a choice right now).

Her prior halter is a leather halter in good condition (cleaned & conditioned frequently to be supple) and that’s what’s caused the rubs, so onto fleece lined halters it is. It needs fleece at the poll and on the cheek pieces, nose is optional.

What are people’s favorites? it must have a break-away piece so the lemieux halter isn’t an option (unless there’s a model other than the vogue, which is the one I keep finding)
I’ve had the centaur fleece lined breakaway halter but I’m not a huge fan of that clip (it’s a claw you leverage open rather than a standard snap).

You can make any halter a breakaway by buying (or making) a leather safety release tab. I got some from SmartPak, but Google breakaway halter replacement tabs and tons of online shops have them. Here’s a video of how you do it:

You may have better luck with a lightweight beta halter with a breakaway fuse. Fleece collects dirt & sweat and gets “rubby” pretty quickly.

This one from SmartPak is great: https://www.smartpakequine.com/pt/smartpak-deluxe-removable-fleece-lined-breakaway-halter-23834

The fleece is on with Velcro so it can be washed and it doesn’t break the bank. I haven’t used mine a ton but the quality seems good.

Back on Track makes one that doesn’t rub, but you have to add the leather tab for turnout.
