Favorite fly mask for a small pony

I have a small pony (11.1 h) with a fairly refined face. He hates fly masks. However, he needs one.

Usually small pony masks are double labeled for foals. The Farnam one is cut quite differently from a horse type mask - not much poof around the eyes and the strap is down near the muzzle instead of across the jaw near the throatlatch. It doesn’t stay on past one good rub, and the velcro doesn’t even have to disconnect.

I think he’d be best off with a pretty simple mask, double velcro, no ears or weird nose flaps, that’s cut like a regular horse mask. Any suggestions? Thanks!

The Amigo fly mask fits my 12 hand welsh pony great. He takes a pony size. I am pretty sure they come in “small pony” too. No ears, no flaps, lots of eye room

I have found the Cashel Crusaders to be well scaled from cob (small horse), horse, warmblood, and draft. I see they offer a small pony and large pony (in addition to cob) so that may be an option for you.

I have always liked the fit and durability (again across the range of sizes). Also, plenty of options in terms of ears/no ears, long nose or not.

Thank you! I ordered a Cashel small pony/weanling, and it’s cut really well to fit him with plenty of eye poof, and is staying on well. I’ve had trouble with the ones with ears staying on but it seems like ear holes have a lot more grip.

Poltroon: I think you will be happy with the one you ordered. I have a mini, 9hh, and ordered the weanling size in the Cashel Crusader. Had to make some small modifications at the velcro strap, and it’s a tad long on the nose, but it fits much better than other brands we tried. Plenty of eye poof!
