Recently got a 17h warmblood, now looking for jump boots (front and back) that aren’t too expensive but still nice enough (don’t have to be show quality, he’s a hunter) and fit well. He’s a pretty big guy, his legs are fairly thick. The issue I’m having is that a lot of brands only carry horse size, but I think he’d need an oversize at least in the back. For reference, he wears 16” in the front and 18” in the back for back on track quick wraps. Thanks in advance!
The 19h Hanoverian I ride goes in these behind (https://www.lemieux.com/us/horsewear/boots-bandages/grafter-brushing-boot-black#selection.color=6636).
We polo wrap him with climatex liners up front, but if you’re looking for an open front boot I have a pair of Teknas that I like, and can’t go wrong with Eskadron. Obviously Equifits are great, but not in the same price bracket as the others. The Lemieux brushing boots are nice because they come in a wide size range, and for hind boots you don’t really need the same type of support as the fronts (usually).
Arma
thank you for the suggestions!
I am eventing a draft cross and ended up with the Arma brushing boots in XL for front and XLXW for hind but I had to order from the UK.
I had an 18.1 Dutch gelding who went in the Zandona L+ (their version of oversized) or the Lemieux Capella boots. Nothing else fit. For our 17h guys, they fit in either the Veredus or Equifit large or XL depending on how thick they are. Equifit also does XXL on some of their boots, but even those didn’t fit the 18.1 dinosaur lol
thanks so much! will check all these out!
