favorite leather reconditioner?

An older saddle, a bit stiff and a bit slick, not dried out just needs some love. What do you suggest?

Leather honey or higher standards are both awesome.

Back in the day when Beval was still Beval and they had an amazing craftsman that did custom work and restoration, I learned about this stuff: https://www.amazon.com/Carr-Martin-Ko-Cho-Line-Leather-Dressing/dp/B002HJ4HU6.

Effax Lederbalsam was my go-to for a while, but I now make my own homemade version. Beeswax, Shea butter, and Sweet almond oil in a 1:1:3 ratio.

Thanks. I have always wondered about Ko-Cho-Line… and I also like the Effax.

I find that Ko-Cho-Line leaves tack greasy.

I really like a balsam for hydrating- Effax and Devoucoux both make great ones. Higher Standards’ balm is great as well.

I had some Lords conditioner a saddle fitter gave me. Clear, liquid-y, and really soaked in and made a difference… I generally like the more “solid” ones that melt into the leather… I sometimes leave the saddle in the sun for a while then slather on something. I guess I’ll stick with the Effax I already have until it’s gone. Thanks all!!

I got some Leather Therapy for a different issue and wound up loving it as a conditioner. My other go-to is Passier.

I like Effax and Stubben Hamonal. For a DEEP conditioning, I think the Hamonal works really well.

Albion sells a beeswax one that I use on saddles…not daily maybe a couple of times a week

i personally use alot of effax and stubben products but ive heard that cavalor is amazing aswell

I use a Feilding’s “Aussie” beeswax one for a bit of “stick” at shows…
