What are some of your favorite pitch forks?
I use the Durafork.
I have a Futurefork that doesn’t work for me at all…shit just slides off the end.
It’s interesting how really small changes (the two forks look very similar!) can make such a difference.
I also like the Durafork… for manure, not a future fork. I also have two actual metal pitch forks, one for doing straw stalls with five tines (which I don’t do straw stalls any more, but still have the fork), and a hay pitch fork, with fewer tines. I still use both these pitch forks at times, for a variety of things. Because a pitch fork is a handy thing, which one is chosen depends on the job that needs doing.
That’s funny because I like my FutureFork better than the other one we have.
We like most pitchforks but the old metal Durafork with the ergonomic bent handle.
After years is still brand new, no one gets along with it.
I sits on a manure bucket by the arena and everyone still leaves it leaning on the wall and gets another to clean after their horses.
I want one of these but the person selling made it more difficult than I wanted it to be when I reached out.

Currently I’m using a durafork and a curved one the sstack sells.
Our problem with the curve in the handle is not when picking, is when trying to dump in a manure bucket and at times the fork wants to wobble all over the place and some doesn’t make it in there, rolls off and has to be picked up again from the floor.
Don’t seem to have that trouble with the straight handle ones.
That larger/longer basket looks interesting.
I have used these in the past (different distributor), and really liked them. (Bummer that you had difficulty with the vendor.) I do think it takes some adjustment in technique between the straight handled forks and those with ergonomic curved shafts.
I like ergonomic handles when I’m going straight into a manure spreader. Into a muck bucket, not so much.
I like the plain-jane dura-fork. Anything with a basket is too heavy. Fine tine forks work great for horses who tend to have those tiny poop pieces that fall from a regular fork, but I don’t want to use it for the whole stall - again, too heavy, and too much shaking needed. I do the final touch up with the fine tine, if needed.
Since this is in the menagerie, I just want to make sure that the OP is looking for a fork to do horse manure and not for some other use?
My favorite manure fork has a slight curve to the head of the fork, I am sad that I can not find it on Amazon anymore.
With a little more searching, I did find it on Tractor Supply - Derby Original stall fork
I’ve run over my Durafork with my JD3320 (it falls out of the front end loader) at least 5 times and it hasn’t broken yet. Every time it happens I think, “There should be a commercial - it’s got 9 lives!”.
Pitchforks really matter. You want it light, durable and wide enough. Someone brought a heavier, narrower one as a gift and I don’t like it. Therefore it just sits.
I also have issues with the ergo ones dumping on the ground when trying to dump into the wheelbarrow so don’t like those. My fav is the Fine Tine fork. Big basket and less wasted shavings.
I love the forever fork https://www.foreverfork.com/
The handle is lightweight which makes a big difference to me.
The Forever Fork is the best pitchfork I’ve ever used. The handle at the end is awesome, and its nice and light. If I were to complain about anything, the metal can be very cold in the winter, but with gloves after the initial pick up its fine. And truly - its wicked hard to break!
