Favorite place to put hunting license?

I bought my license on line and it is bigger than the itty-bitty ones of yore. Back then, in the dark ages, I stuck it in the lining on my hunt cap. This one is going to disintergrate the first hot day, if not the first gallop.

What do you do with yours?

Whicker -

You can buy a little waterproof thingy to hold your license. I do that with mine because it has my duck stamps on it and I don’t want it to get ruined. If you can’t find the blaze orange license holder you can use a little snack ziplock bag.

But for foxhunting what I do is print out several copies of my license, and keep it in my vest, in a waterproof holder, along with a copy of my insurance card, and emergency contact info.

In the event of a serious accident it is inadvisable to remove a helmet - but having the info in the vest or coat makes it easier for EMT’s and others to get vital info.

And if the CPO’s check your license, it’s easier to get it out of your pocket than unbuckle your helmet and fish for it - especially if your horse is being fussy.

The nice thing about the online license is that you can print out a lot of them - and can put them in various jackets and vests - no worries about forgetting the darn thing.

I also keep one in the jacket I use for basseting for the same reason.

Hope that helps.

If you get it on line, you can save it and shrink it before you print it out. Mine’s laminated and in my helmet, if you’re ever looking.

Inside your hat lining.

When I ride at any activity, I have my hunting license, state forest permit, and my insurance and contact info in a plastic sleeve with elastic band and velcro(like event rides use). I wear it on my leg right below my knee. This way it is easily seen if I am injured. I also am considering putting a copy of my drivers license as most medical places want to see a picture ID to verify insurance.

This is entirely related to trail riding, but I took a picture of my trail pass with my phone camera. (I took one look at it and gave it a 2 ride life expectancy and that was if it didn’t end up in the wash after the first ride.)

I buy my hunting license online and make several copies which are distributed to:
• All my hunt jackets exterior pockets
 • My cell phone carriers (I have two)
 • My trucks (two of those as well)
 • My car (if I follow the hunt via car)
 • My horse trailer
I like DMK's idea of taking a cell photo of any identifying licenses. Will have to do that, too.
 • I put mine in a little plastic sandwich bag and Duck tape it inside the lining of my helmet. Lasts the whole season.
