Favorite Riding Jeans?

Mostly I use the plain old fashioned wranglers. I did recently buy a pair of the Q Baby and I do find them comfy but I expect with the thinner material they won’t last as long. But they are handy for western or English since on any given day I may not decide which tack to use til I get to the barn.

Generally I find the huge array of choices to be too dizzying to contemplate, even among Wrangler styles let alone Cruel Girl and other brands. But I do have a pair of Some Other Brand That I Cannot Recall, bought for $15 on a closeout from Land’s End, that are comfortable to ride in as well.

I like the regular ol’ plain-Jane men’s Wranglers. Women’s Wranglers cut my waist too much and tend to be too baggy in the bum and thighs. I tried some Q Babys and I like the way they fit, but I don’t like the thinner material and the fact that the thick seam is on the inside. I wear them for everyday use, but not for riding. I prefer the heavier material of the standard Wranglers, and the way the thin seam is on the inside of the leg and the thick seam is on the outside. Much more comfortable and no chafing.

As far as overall comfort I found some low-rise stretch Wranglers that are amazingly comfy and fit awesome, but I don’t like to ride in them - the material is WAY too thin!! I went through like four pairs in six months before I finally gave up and went back to the regular MWZ Wranglers.

With that inseam and build I would try the Wrangler Men’s Cowboy cut slim fit. When I was that build albeit shorter those were my go to jeans. Not too heavy, comfortable, and available in all the right ranges at the local tractor supply/academy/walmart/feed store/cavenders/ etc.

Those are my favorite, nice smooth inseam so no chaffing on my leg, the elastic on the waistband keeps my crack from showing when I sit down and they come in great lengths!

You can also get them in black if you’re wanting to show. I have a black pair as my riding pants for showing because I don’t like the softer material show pants like at Hobby Horse and such. I prefer to ride in jeans.

Does anyone besides me remember Miller’s Riding Jeans?

Granted, they were more tuned to English than western (narrow with knee patches), but man were they comfortable. For both English & Western riding. In fact, I still have a few pairs that I’ve patched to the point where I can really only wear them at home without embarrasment - lol!.

Yes, I still have my one pair of Millers. They are my favorite riding jeans! They fit great and look awesome with tall western boots.
