Favorite Riding Jeans?

My go-to barn jeans are about to kick the bucket, and I’m looking for something made for riding to replace them, and maybe to wear to some (very) local shows.

What are your favorite brands/styles of riding jeans? Do Wranglers exist that don’t look like “mom jeans”?

Suggestions appreciated.

I like the Aura line by Wrangler. There are several different styles and cuts. I can only find them online though, they are $40 on amazon.com

I second the Wrangler Auras. The lower cut ones fit me well and are high enough waisted to ride in without them riding down, but not so high cut I feel like I’m wearing “old man” pants. Mine have held up pretty well to the daily abuse and washing of being barn jeans as well.

For shows and nice occasions I like the Wrangler Shilos, they are low cut but have a little elastic in the waistband so that they don’t gap. For everyday I like the bootcut Old Navy jeans, they last about a year for everyday use, and I’m very hard on jeans!

Tractor Supply selld the Wrangler Aura jeans. My jean of choice, now

Yep, same here. Wrangler Auras from Tractor Supply.

Yeah, Wrangler Auras here too. I won’t ever ride in any other jeans again.

I like the Wranglers (wearing a pair now) but depending on your build / style I’ve found that I like the Adiktd, Rock n Roll Cowgirl, and Cruel Girl styles. Same comfort / stretch as the Wrangler Aura / Rock 47 but a little more stylish. I’ve got all 4 brands in my show wardrobe, depending on what shirt I’m wearing and what mood I’m in.

The key seems to be to find a shop(s) that carry a number of brands and styles and be willing to put the time in to trying on as many pairs and styles as it takes to find what you like / what looks good on you.

Finding a store that carries a ton of western jeans is going to be a challenge in my area, it’s a h/j dominated community. But I know a couple hours of jeans-trying-on is in my future! I have a small waist, bigger hips, and a curvy butt, so finding pants is always a challenge. :stuck_out_tongue: Thanks for the recommendations.

Not Your Daughter’s Jeans. $$ but they ride right.

Wrangler Q-Baby. Bought them from Amazon–not more than $35 a pair and the most AWESOME comfortable jeans ever.

I have my eye on these http://www.ridingwarehouse.com/Deluxe_Trail_Riders_Jeans_Men_Womens_Full_Seat/descpage-DTRJFS.html but I just don’t have $189 lying about at the moment.

I love the Wrangler Q-Baby jeans, too.

Maybe I’m weird…well, I know I’m weird.
I LIKE the old-style Wranglers. And the Big R store almost always has some in the slightly irregular, $10 per pair pile. They are comfortable for me, though I’m sure they do come across as a mom-jeans look.
However, they are made out of heavier denim, which is necessary if you aren’t just riding, but working/vaccinating/AI breeding cows/fencing with barbed wire. The lighter, stretchy jeans are comfy but they just get torn up too easily for me.
Yeah, the waist is way up high but that is really comfortable on me, especially when I’m riding.
And in my neck of the woods, the Wranglers like this will never, ever get you a strange look. They’re sort of an official uniform.

I like Q-baby better than Aura. A bit more stretch and I like the leg better. The Aura does have a heavier weight, which is nice in winter. Aura thigh seems bigger than the Q.
Inseam also seems less thick with the Q. Important for my comfort.

I’ve had a bear of a time finding riding jeans. I have long legs (37in inseam) and I guess thin legs for my size. I’ve tried all Wranglers and Cruel Girls, and none seem to fit right because if I get ones that fit my hips, they’re way too baggy around the knee and chafe :frowning:

It’s also extremely hard to find jeans with 37in inseam. I’ve found that Miss Me jeans, while expensive, are the most comfortable for me to ride in. I wish I could make a pair of jeans that fit like Miss Me’s with the elastic waistband of the wrangler q-babys haha

Despite the bagginess around the knees for me, the q-baby’s are pretty dang comfortable!

I would suggest the Wrangler Jet jean for everyday riding…they are the boot it mid-rise style of the Cash combined with the stretch fabric and no gab waist band of the Q-baby–without the Mom jean high waist…lol.

For something a bit fancier try the newer Rock Baby…several are made for gals with smaller waists and curvier hips.

And it sounds like you are familiar with Wrangler, but I will remind you that their sizing is very forgiving. Check the size charts, they are correct, but be ready to order a size down from most other pants.

Good luck in your search.

I wear the Old Navy bootcut for everyday, too. They last me about a year and are comfy on me. I’m 5’ on a good hair day, short waisted and curvy. They have just enough stretch and the low waists don’t ride too high but still cover my bits. DH and I also ride motorcycles and if it’s chilly I wear my bike chaps over my jeans to ride.

I’m going to check my local TS for the Wrangler Auras, tho…a riding girl can’t have too many jeans!

I ride in Qbaby, plus they have awesome size options for the super tall, in case anyone needs that.
