I am looking for a new snaffle bridle with a padded crown and thick padded noseband. Any suggestions? Looking to spend around $200ish.
I just bought the Wellfleet from smartpak for $219. It is really nice- the crown is quite soft.
If you can find a Barnsby they are amazing. I got mine for $150 from a tack store that was going out of business.
I recently got a Thornhill Pro Trainer. I wanted a padded crown and noseband, but did not want a flash (my horse simply doesn’t need one). It’s a really nice bridle although I wish it came with leather instead of cotton reins.
The same bridle does come with a flash too:
I recently bought a KL Select Red Barn Centerline Bridle. I love it!

I like the padded crown piece (with cuts of ears) and the padding on the noseband too. I think it runs a little big (I have the cob size), and the flash is on the long side (I put a couple of holes in it). The quality of the leather is suberb! The centerline variery has the smaller noseband. I forgot what the thicker noseband is called. My horse is very fine boned, so the thicker nosebands make him look wierd.
I can e-mail pictures of him in his bridle, if you are interested.
Happy shopping!
I just purchased a comfort crown “Crown” bridle from Dover and am extremely pleased with the quality and fit.
