Favorite Soap?

What is your favorite horse shampoo? Looking preferably on smartpak if it is to be ordered! Thank You!

Dawn or Ivory. Inexpensive, rinses clean, does a great job, and doesn’t kill MY skin, which usually means it doesn’t kill my horses’ skin. Also multi-functional. Same bottle can wash the horses, the dog, tack (I use it on web breastplates, horse boots, and the dishes!

I personally like Head N Shoulders. It works better than most anything else and always leaves their coat nice and smooth and shiny.

Mane ‘n’ Tail!

Cowboy Magic is amazing! It’s my number one go-to Shampoo and Conditioner!

Corona, rinses easily, leaves them soft and shiny, cheap and concentrated!

Ivory

The Lucky Braids shampoo is my all time favorite. Not the cheapest thing in the world, but pretty darn amazing.

Ivory, Head and Shoulders, and Mane&Tail for conditioning the mane and tail (great product name :P)

I love lucky braids, but can’t justify the price. I usually use a human shampoo designed for sensitive skin.

I like the blue vetrolin shampoo for greys and socks

Lucky Braids all the way. Gets the grey steed sparkling with minimal effort… including his white tail. Rinses completely out with ease. My skin is never irked by it. I buy by the gallon and stock up during sales and I don’t seem to run through it that fast.

Yup once I tried it I won’t use anything thing else. Nothing else leaves the coat so silky, shiny and healthy plus it helps prevent and treat skin conditions. I especially like how easily it rinses.

Another vote for Lucky Braids! I finally gave in a bought a small bottle two years ago… I haven’t looked back since! Not cheap, but it is concentrated, so lasts a long time. Buy a gallon and it lasts forever. I used it nearly every day (it is that gentle, yet keeps away skin issues) during the summer as part of my post-ride rinse, and I still have more than half a gallon left.

I like Ivory and Orvis, but I recently discovered this shampoo, which I really like. It leaves the coat shiny and moisturized.

The cheapest Suave shampoos, not the fancier ones, for ordinary baths. I have a bottle of some berry-scented bluing shampoo if he needs to look super-clean for some reason (my horse is grey).

I’ve never had good luck with Orvis for some reason. Even if I apply it full strength to stains, scrub it in, and let it stand for a while, it doesn’t seem to do a thing.

LoveJubal, Your link isn’t working.

I like Ivory or Dawn, people shampoo, the vetrolin blue shampoo…

I have a thing of Orvis and I just don’t like it.

I have also used Dr Bonner’s liquid castille soap which I like.

I use the classic green Vetrolin. Smells great! I have a black horse, so I don’t know how well it works on stains. However, it leaves my horse’s coat silky soft and clean.

I really like EQyss MicroTek. http://www.eqyss.com/shampoos.asp especially if my horses have any skin things going on.

Though I use the green Vetrolin, as well!

Another vote for Ivory dish soap.
