Favorite thin saddle pad

My saddle fits well. What is your favorite thin saddle pad? Thinner than Back on Track…… (although I felt a new one yesterday and I swear it’s thinner than the ones I have at home…) I have an old SaddleRite flannel one I like, but they are out of business. Suggestions? Bonus if it’s nice enough to show in.

Ogilvy baby pads are great if you want very thin. The Lemieux suede pads are also fairly thin.

Both of these have a good shape and room over the withers. They also wash and wear well.

Lemieux Loire, ES & PS pads are all fairly thick.

For schooling, I love the SmartPak square pads. They’re thick enough to stay in place but don’t add too much bulk and wash well: https://www.smartpakequine.com/pt/smartpak-classic-medium-diamond-dressage-saddle-pad-9497

For showing, I love the Ogilvys. I get the baby pad which is thin but still has girth loops: https://www.smartpakequine.com/pt/ogilvy-dressage-baby-pad-11704. Bonus, you can get them custom made with your colors and barn logo :tada:

I want to like the LeMieux suede pads, but I sold mine because everything sticks to them. The Mattes plain cotton pads are pretty thin. I use them for schooling in the summer since they are easy to wash.

The Smartpak Lite pads are my favorite thin option.

my favorites after trying most of them are Ogilvy.

Another for Ogilvy - I resisted for the longest time because they’re expensive, but they are cut anatomically and have a generous wither rise. They don’t budge. My other baby pads (SP, Dover, PRI and mixed brands) tend to slip.

they hold up really well, too, so the extra $ is worth it.

Thanks everyone!! Never thought about baby pads-the ones I have seen aren’t shaped. Glad to know the option.
Lemieux pads have been a favorite. I’ll have to look for the thinner ones.

I love the Dover ones…have not had to buy them for a couple of years but hoping they still sell them

Another vote for the Mattes cotton or Ogilvy.

Lemieux for me.

Another vote for Ogilvy! If you don’t like those for some reason, I also really like my Nuumed pads. They’re super thin, even thinner than the Ogilvy.

cut so they stay in the gullet of saddle and come w velcro on the spine of pad in the back and a little plastic piece w velcro which is inserted under panels of saddle and holds it securely in place. But it stays up without velcro.

WOW Supercool https://www.wowsaddles.com/product-page/supercool-1437-p

WOW Supercool Saddlecloths are made from a 3D spacer fabric which can literally keep a layer of air between your saddle and your horse. The space the fabric provides allows sweat to wick away from your horse and evapourate keeping your horse dry.

The fabric is easily cleaned under a hose for most of the time with only the occasional need to wash in a machine. The cloth can be dried really fast just by shaking out! So, it is possible to wash the cloth under a hose and re-used it immediately!

For good measure the material also has antibacterial properties as well.

The plastic fixing buckle attaches to the D-Rings and holds the saddle cloth/supercool high in the gullet so it does not press on the horses spine.

The pockets are for those with a WOW Saddle. The pockets allow your WOW panels to slide snugly into them, to prevent your supercool from moving. For those with a non-WOW saddle, no pockets are necessary.

The WOW Supercool comes in 10 colours: Black, Khaki Brown, Orange, Dark Red, Light Red, Grey, White, Blue, Purple and Pink.

Medium for 17" and less.
Large for 18" or more.

WOnder if its available in the US? I have something very similar from SHires (AP, but does fit under a dressage saddle). thx
