I am going to save up for a thinline western pad I think. I love my english thinline half pad. However, I am curious what else there is out there and what everybody likes. I use to have a really nice diamond wool saddle pad, but I can’t seem to find the same pad again.
Contour Pedic by Equibrand. I can tell a difference when I use something else. Tempers the bounce for both of us.
I like the diamond wool products.
I really like my Pro Choice pads.
Pad
I love my charmayne james profeesinal chice air ride wool barrel pads. But i also like the plain wool pads by the big r and the pro tec wool pad
Professionals Choice heavy duty air ride, with a thin washable liner type pad underneath to keep the work pad nice and fresh.

The most purely natural saddle blanket available.I won’t put anything else between my saddle and my horse.
Professionals Choice
Professionals Choice HD Air Ride (I’m too lazy for a liner pad, just clean the fleece every couple months). I’ve also got a Wyngz that I really love for arena riding.

Does anybody know anything about the classic equine ESP pads?
I buy pads that are felt with a foam core, preferably with a vented spine and cut-outs for the latigo and off cinch. The last ones I bought on clearance at Pard’s and are Mustang brand. The previous ones I bought on ebay. They hold up pretty well for moderate use for a year or two. When the foam starts to compress, I throw them out and buy more. If you keep an eye out, you can find them for less than $50.
I love a basic, simple Harris work pad. They are inexpensive, last forever and easy to care for.
I had a mare with NO wither that I tried every non-slip pad out there on with mixed results…no matter what I still had to practically cut her in half to feel like the saddle was secure.
I was very reluctant to try the Harris since it is a fleece bottom and I thought for sure I would die on that first ride. Much to my surprise I didn’t have to cinch her up nearly as tight as before and have never had a saddle move a bit.
I was wondering if a fleece bottom versus a felt or wool bottom helps the horse’s back vent better?

I use the Classic Equine ESP pads with a treeless western saddle- I find that they seem to work well and I like the spine clearance and cut out leg area this pad provides.

In my case my mare got way less sweaty with the fleece Harris pad than anything else I ever used.
I have a gelding that needs a fleece girth, and I know he sweats less than with a neoprene one.
I was thinking that fleece would probably vent better than felt or wool.
On all our pick-up horses we use the a navajo on the bottom and a PRO felt pad on top! I’m also a big fan of wade pads, but they are so expensive.

I really like my CSI as well. However, I wore a hole under the stirrup fender on both sides. Only negative I have found with this pad.
