As for the Rule changes…EXCELLENT JOB!!! The boys may be flying under the radar for now…but for those that have crossed the moral & ethical line…these rule changes will protect our members the way the Courts have! It’s about time we put the felons in their own category…PAST member.

I don’t care what picture people dig up of Josh and what he looks like in it. Because the mental picture I will always have of him is this:
One year, while at the Upperville Grand Prix – this was back when Josh was still just grooming - - probably for Pam…anyway, we were all standing near the in gate and he had just finished up with whatever horses he was responsible for back in the barn area so he showed up all out of breath, because he was rushing to not miss much more of the class.
There he was, all huffing and puffing talking all loud and sassy and flamboyant (as some of our male riders who choose to ride aside from time to time do) and yammering on about the drama in the barn area – with his high hair on top, sides shaved, long in hair in back (basically a mullet) 80’s hair (it was the 80’s then)…

tummy baring girlie top that stopped just past his nipples and some practically legging-style pants. He looked like a girl outta Flashdance or one coming back from an aerobic class. And I remember him talking really, really loudly about some drugs he’d gotten into.
I was like, “And people take this guy seriously?”
So, no matter what that guy looks like, no matter what kind of cleaning up of his act the system has forced him to do, no matter how nice and polite he is to passers by (now that he’s been knocked down a few notches), THAT image of him will always stick with me and I’d never do business with that.

Please not only comment on the rule change proposals, but ask your H/J reps to do the same.
Some won’t, of course, but maybe if enough people send e-mails and letters a few might.

It’s really up to us this time. I don’t think money or PR is needed. I think everyone needs to file comments on the Rule Changes proposed to let the criminal element know they’re not welcome.
We’ve had enough bad publicity. I also think you should all suggest through your Horse Councils that an individual law like the one passed in Kentucky should be passed by every state legislature.
What a wonderful idea Snowy!!! I wonder how many of us are members of our state’s Horse Councils? Perhaps more people should consider joining to make sure their voices are heard on legislative issues!! I’m a member of the Virginia Horse Council.
The function of a Horse Council is to Lobby for legislation
