Thanks for the update.
Bumping this up. I’ve signed the petition and I really want to see USEF uphold its own rules on this one.

Hopefully USEF has a recording or video of the hearing. If they “relived” that day I am sure they would not even open an envelope from the felons…
RNB, are all the board members the same?
My Sincere Apology
Due to the release of a Court Order, I would like to take this time to express my sincere and heartfelt apology to ALL of the victims involved in the fraud case that I was involved in. This apology goes out to all of the immediate victims as well as to the entire Horse Community in whole.
This case centers around the fact that I took horses on consignment or " the cuff", marketed them and then sold them for a profit. The owners never received FULL DISCLOSURE of their equine's sale price nor sale status, therefore the victims were DEFRAUDED. For this, I am deeply sorry and extremely apologetic.
I never went into any of these deals planning to defraud, but without full disclosure, that is what I was doing.
I took a Plea Agreement in 2004, spent 15 months in the custody of the Federal Prison System, spent 3 years being supervised by a Federal Probation Officer and am now serving a USEF suspension.
Since being released from Federal probation, I have done my best to regain the respect and trust of the Equine community. I have worked in various aspects of the community as well as with Virginia horse people to assist them in any way they saw fit and to tell my story and express how important FULL DISCLOSURE is, in ALL aspects of equine marketing.
Please accept my sincere apology and understand that I am well aware of the damage I did to the individuals involved as well as the entire Equine community.
Sincerely,
Joshua Cardine
Oh. My.
Decided maybe I should quote it. Dunno why. Gut feeling.

And your restitution plan would be what, exactly ?

Have you thought of sending hand written apologies to each of the people you ripped off? Might get you further than this will. It it obvious that it was written by someone else and you just posted it here…
You may have defrauded people who were once clueless, but in the past 9 years there are a lot of people who got an education on the crooks in the horse world.
Textbook example of Deja Moo… knowing you have heard this bullsh!t before.
Mr. Cardine,
Having read the count of the indictment that you pleaded guilty to, I find your apology disingenuous.
Selling someone’s horse or pony without telling them and keeping the entire proceeds of the sale is a bit more than a “lack of full disclosure” don’t you think?
Trying to minimize the crime(s) to which you plead guilty is not helping your credibility one iota…
Ever give thot to a full disclosure of the number of your vicims… And not the small number of those the FF case. …BUt all of them ?? Do as you count …remember to include the significant human toll you heaped upon a certian young lady who NEVER got the chance to recover her pony, lost her entire junior show experience because you stole her pony and she never had the $$$ to get another. She will never get those years back How do you justify not only stealing her pony but you cruelly kept her informed about “breeding” her mare while you spent the proceeds? How many more??
The moral compass was broken and still is… The debit is NOT paid in full. Should have written those letters from Prison. Oh and You are behind on your Court Ordered victim restitution. So your words ring hollow. You deserve to be banned for life … For preying on your Very young riding students and their unsuspecting and non-horsey pony moms. You did’t think of anything or anybody you hurt but scheming for you own greed in you lifestyle of crime.
Don’t hide behind the words “full disclosure” to decriminalize your deliberately FRAUDULENT deals. Simply Pathetic.
This is great! Debbie and J and all the others are going to get all their money back? Don’t hold your breath, girls. Getting restitution out of a convicted felon is much harder than squeezing blood out of a turnip.
The only thing a felon is sorry about is about getting caught, not about taking your money.
Did all the ponies and horses get good homes? That was the only good thing to come out of this. Always get everything in writing.
He only feels sorry for what he did because it is now limiting his ability to go to USEF shows and prey on the new crop of pony owners…
Un believable… just wow! All we need now is to hear from Keg…

That’s exactly what popped into my head when I read it too. I’m trying to regain the trust of the horse people in my area so that iIcan get my grubby little toe in the door once again. Whadda ya mean you don’t want me around your shows, Virginia? What if I said I was sorry?
I can’t count the ways this apology rings hollow to me.
I want to make it clear that although I testified in Federal Court on behalf of the Attorney General and was considered a victim in this case;there was no court ordered compensation from Josh & Keg to me. I NEVER received compensation from the case. As the evidence mounted…they had no need to pile on the charges…78 were enough to get a plea. It’s how the prosecutors decided to present the case.
I suppose a Civil Class Action is in order for RNB & the any remaining or potential victims.
Is USEF considering reinstatement of Josh Cardine? Would that be the purpose of this apology?
If that is the case, I hope that they will see that his minimalization of his crime(s) is a huge red flag.

Bump…
Does anyone know if the USEF is considering reinstatement or would that be a “closed session” sort of thing?
