Well here is some food for thought. Many years ago I worked at a farm where one of the stall cleaners made some unwanted sexual advances. I told the barn manager and she said I was making a mountain out of a mole hill. Well afew years later this same stall cleaner made some advances to a 12 year old child. Barn manager still did nothing. My hubby called the police and told them what was going on. This is why…I did not want that over my head If this guy did one day harm a child or woman. I could not live with myself. Well the more I looked into it I learned alot. So here I go… for those of you who think it is OK to have a felon work for you… you need to talk to your insurance company. I was very surprised at what mine had to say. I learned that the barn manager/owner at the farm where I worked could have lost everything because of that stall cleaner. There policy was that he should have been let go and they would not cover anything that happened because of him. So…I beg you guys that think it is ok to help Josh and Keg out please really think about it. If you have boarders, or clients etc… and some thing happens to a horse because of these felons what would you do? Talk to your Insurance company about it. Please think about that. Where is common sense? That would be like me saying I am having a hard time right now. I have an 18 month old kid, my neighbor the child molester will babysit for a really good price. So lets take advantage of the good deal. PLEASE!!! What are some of you thinking! Use common sense!
For those who are not aware of this case…Josh and Keg did NOT make a living in the horse business…they lived off other people’s sympathies and credit cards. One young lady was forced to choose between paying a hefty show bill they left behind or lose her points!
Sanctioning this kind of behavior will not take away an honest living from some poor soul… Josh and Keg pled guilty in Federal Court to just one count to avoid a long court case and face over SEVENTY charges (70+!!) with only three of their victims. The amount of money they owe in resitiution as a result of PLEADING GUILTY is in excess of FIFTY TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS ($52,000). A long Federal trial could expose MORE victims and if found guilty they would serve longer sentences.
These are NOT the kind of felons we want finding new “clients” in the Horse industry!! There is no such thing as a “little guilty” in a Federal charge. Other felons and those found guilty of other charges including neglect still working in our business. We do not OWE them a living!!! They do not deserve the RIGHT to walk on the show grounds!
A drunk driver loses the right to drive…it protects the general public. Looking the other way in the USEF will NOT protect the membership.

let me set the sence for you guys. when i was 13 years old, i was selling my pony (rainbeau’s northern belle). it was after lexington, and i was starting to outgrow her. when we said we were going to sell her josh and keg were all about it. we had known them before the sale, but didnt know what they were all about. i also used to show ponies for them, and go out to the barn and ride for them. i wish i would have sat down and thought about selling this pony… bc i wish i still had her now. anyway- after we sent her up there to the farm they were at… me (being a child) wanted to go and check on my beloved pony. we had plans to go up there anyway so that i could ride some of their ponies. well, we get there and im looking around, thinking… ok where the **** is my pony. josh begins to tell me that shes not there… shes at another farm down the street bc they are planning on breeding her. when, of course, in reality she was LONGGG gone. she was sold to a family in GA i believe it was? everytime we went up there it was a different excuse. thats all they had were excuses. i was young enough to believe them. now that i am older (20) i would love to run across them… just one more time. i realize that i could say just about anything and they would have heard it before… but the fact that they took my pony from me like that. i cant comprehend how you can do that to a child. especially a pony… i mean im sure you remember your 1st pony, or maybe your childs pony. i know i had sold her but i wanted to make sure she was alright, bc i loved her to death. and i still do. im hoping that maybe one day i can get her back and keep her until her last days (probably wont happen but its ok to think on the bright side). im extactic that my pony even made it out having weight on her bones… as they apparently didnt want to see horses at a good weight. all their horses were underweight, and a lot of them did not survive.
unless you have been through it you have no idea what it is like to have you pony/horse up for sale, and then hear NOTHING about them. any good horse owner would want to know how their horse is doing and all of that. its kind of a state of panic. after that its not even about the money.
point stated. josh and keg are horrible people. they shouldnt have anything to do with HORSES, dogs, cats, birds, snakes, rodents, pigs, chickens, or any other mammal that breaths oxygen.
Never stop hoping to find her…I found my welsh mare after 14 long years and she ended up being only 10mins from my house. I kept her for 3 more happy years when at 40, she passed on. Hugs.

Any one following the news from KY regarding the sales, purchase or transfers of horses in that state??
Josh is already out and riding professionally again. I happen to drive past the farm he’s riding at on the way to the barn I keep my horse at while I’m home from college. I havn’t heard anything on Keg, but I think he is getting/got out of jail this month maybe?

I will start working on this as soon as the hearing is over on Jan.6th. This is even more reason for us to convince people to send something to the Dept of Justice. There will be an offical document from the DOJ saying “X” number of people sent letters expressing their concern. The USEF will hopefully consider this serious enough to review it. I receive all documents regarding this case since I was a victim and can attach copies to the Proposed Rule Change Form. And I hope the individuals who are quite brilliant will step up to help. 
It takes the same amount of time to post something on this thread as it does to type up an email and sent it to Kim Anderson. If the readers have to choose, please send the email.

Karen has learned a lesson the hard way since she let her TB mare and pony go to a potential buyer on approval in November. When payment was not made for the horses by a person she thought she knew, and thought she could trust the terrible truth was discovered. Both had been sold at the Camelot auction on 12/14/05. Karen was able to trace and find her TB but was unable to save her life. She found her at a sale colicking. She knows the trader identity who bought Bug last but the person will not tell her where the pony went. Karen needs your help finding Bug before it is too late. She fears what all victims fear…slaughter.

What I would like to understand is why there is such anxiety to enforce a code of ethics against people with minor rules infractions and why the Federation doesn’t use it’s authority against convicted felons and allows them to continue to do business at the smae places as they did when they scammed other members.
Should not the function of a Federation be to protect it’s members and mainatain a fair and level competition field?

Is it true that the Judge recommended a life time suspension even though he could only include the penalty of no participation in any with horses during the three year parole?
I refuse to condemn them just because they are males of this species. In spite of the fact that I despise penis worship I will not punish those so afflicted.
