Feed for the “easy keeper” dressage horse?

I would recommend the Tribute Essential K for your horse. It is a ration balancer with a higher protein level, and is great for ensuring they get all their vitamins and minerals, and the higher protein content helps with developing muscling.

I would sub out the complete feed you are giving him for the Tribute Essential K with the beet pulp. It is a great, quality product and my horse did wonderfully on it. The feed rate is quite low, so make sure you read the bag for feeding instructions. Your horse would probably get about 1.5-2.5 lbs per day, roughly.

Essential K is one of the balancers with a lower protein level, at 28%, vs 30% for most, and a few at 32%. That’s not a bad thing, it just “is”

JB - the Tribute Essential K is still higher in protein than some of the other options available in Canada or that the OP said she has access to, such as Masterfeeds VTM 20 which is 20% protein, Purina Equilizer which is 12% Protein or Brooks Enhancer which is only 20% protein, as well.

You’re right, I had forgotten we were talking about CN by that point
