Feeding a ferret

I was reading a few articles on ferret food over seas and a lot of people mentioned trying to find the right balance for individual ferrets. Some ferrets can eat more biscuits than others and the same goes for meat etc. Apparently if you can get the balance right the ferrets scat will be less offensive and it can even change the overall smell of the animal.
Has anyone experimented with this type of thing??

I used to have ferrets. They were like teeny tiny horses — adorable, full of personality, and an exquisitely reliable method of breaking hearts and/or funding my vet’s vacation home.

No experience with custom diets; I just gave the critters high-quality ferret chow. But I found that the biggest ways to manage odor were to skip out their litter box frequently, launder bedding regularly, and give them a bath once a month. All that kept our house from smelling ferret-y.

You should probably post your question in the Menagerie Forum. That covers animals and pets, not horses. Lots of knowledgeable people there, and some are likely ferret owners. Ferrets are not really a farm related topic.

I suspect this post is just market research or a lead up to future spam. This poster’s only other contribution to the forum is a similarly vague query about horse-feeding habits.
