Fiber footing additives - FutureTrack, TruTex, others?

I am looking into a fiber additive for my small indoor. I currently have concrete sand with a bit of limestone stondust as footing. It is thin and I need more sand. Before purchasing sand, I am trying to decide on a fiber or other additive. It seems that most of these fibers recommend a finer, subangular sand (and I think mine is a fairly coarse, angular sand).

Has anyone compared FutureTrack to TruTex? They seem very similar, and I think they are two of the more affordable footings. Also, any input on what type of sands work best with these fibers from experience? My current sand packs fairly easily, but is very stable and otherwise nice footing. I am considering a masonry sand, which I think would be a bit finer than the concrete sand I typically purchase.

I welcome any advice. Thanks!

I had fiber footing in my indoor and it was an epic, expensive fail. We did everything the company recommended to a T including buying more of their product. It was unusable for nearly a year before I had it hauled out and dumped. Be really careful what you buy- ask to talk to other customers and be sure you ask hard questions. When I was looking for footing to replace this fail, I was referred to another fiber company. They gave me the name of a customer…when I called her, she told me how much she hated her fiber footing but loved her outdoor. I called that arena builder and went w his mixture. It’s limestone screenings mixed w a manufactured limestone product. We love it! Do a search- you’ll find other horror stories.

I have had a good experience adding tru Tex to a sand mix that was a little too fine and got deep and shifty when dry.

I have FutureTrack. The sand required to mix with the fiber is a very specific product. During my installation we had a delivery of the wrong sand (by error) and it was a huge PITA to remove so the proper sand could be installed. So you may just want to ensure that what you have will work with that particular product.

I have TruTex in Southern California and I have been a bit less than impressed. It takes MASSIVE amounts for water to drag it and I find it to be very inconsistent and difficult to manage. I was clear up front with what I had and installed it in big arena, small arena, round pen and eurocizer. My water bill went up 4 times over from me just having the sand. Support was mediocre. This is helpful. I typically mix in mag flakes to avoid watering, so definitely not wanting to add another layer of maintenance.
