Fichtbauer saddles?

Anyone have one or ridden in one? What type of horse does it fit best? Flat or curvy? True to size in the tree? What’s the seat like? Etc?.

I am riding in one that I bought used and love it! It fits my horse and me well, the seat is comfortable and seems true to size. I replaced a Custom saddle and feel that I am no longer in a chair seat . My mare is quite wide and has very little withers and I had a tough time finding a saddle that fit her, and my leg length.
Went out and bought one of their jump saddles after riding in the dressage saddle - same thing- the balance is super and I feel secure and effective

Good to know! I have a longish thigh and typically ride in a shorter stirrup because I need a set back stirrup back and a narrow twist, so sounds like we might have similar issues with the Customs. Thank you!

I saw a couple while I was in Germany, and knew one “small name” trainer that rode exclusively in them and loved them. A fellow boarder had one years ago (I’ve since moved) and he was satisfied with it too. So I’ve only known two men that liked them. Two different shaped men, I might add. I wouldn’t hesitate to consider one if it fit me and the horse. Resale could be a bit tricky in the USA, if that’s a concern, because they’re not as known.

Thanks! Got one coming to trial as well as a Hennig. Have had some hennigs I loved in my past and the Fichtbauer looks similar.

One of my students has one and I love what it does for her horse. Prior to getting one she had ridden in Neidersuiss, and Schleese. Her horse always stepped OUT instead of up and under himself. This one he steps nicely under. The quality of the saddle is quite good. And I really loved how attentive the rep was to proper fit.

Well, I got one on trial but don’t think it’s going to work for me. Nice saddle, the leather could be nicer but is already pretty nice. I like the seat and the balance but this particular saddle didn’t fit my mare. The other thing was that the welting on the back was very uneven (looks like the leather stretched over the seat was a little uneven), so when looking at the saddle from behind, it looked crooked even if I could see from the seams on the panels it was fairly straight.
