Field Boots with Zipper - any way to make calves wider without alteration?

I know I’m not articulating well here.

I have a pair of field boots with the zipper up the back. They are a bit too tight, as in, I can just barely get them zipped, but then I feel like I have a rubberband around my calf and my feet feel like they are falling asleep.

Is there a way to zip in like a piece of elastic? You know, to make them wider without having to actually alter them?

I’m not sure that stretching them would stretch them enough.

I’m not sure it exists but that’s a great idea - elastic calf extender panels that you zip onto your existing zipper to add maybe 1/2" to the width of your boot. Brilliant! Patent that before I do.

Yeah, that’s basically what I’m looking for! A piece of elastic with a zipper headed in each direction on either side, that can be zipped right into place?

Yup, that’s what I’m seeing in my mind.

For western chaps they make these things out of neoprene that zips in to your chaps zipper so that you can have them a little wider like around thighs and calves. You can get them from 1-2 inches! Why don’t they make these for zip up boots…

I actually got these back in my dark days of showing Western Pleasure. The woman I got them from was really great and I bet she could make some for you.

I’m pretty sure this is her (I can’t find any of the old order or contact info):

Yeah! Her’s looks nice. I would try contacting her.

I don’t know how much investing with money I can do. But I could invest time!

I know so many riders with “wider” calves and all I can ever find are tall boots with wide calves that are like 15 or 15 ½… Sorry but those aren’t wide. Wide is like 16…
