Bluestocking wins for Juddmonte, Aventure, the other filly in the race, was 2nd, Los Angeles 3rd after leading most of the way.
Haya Zark broke down about 3/8ths in and it looked catastrophic.

Dammit - I forgot to record it… so sad for Haya Zark…
That there wasn’t a pile up is due to rider expertise and attentiveness, with a helping of sheer luck. Haya Zark was near the front of a tightly bunched group of runners when he went wrong. He did knock into Continuous and I have to think that gives an excuse for that horse’s last place finish.
On a more positive note, fillies have won 10 of the last 17 Arc runnings.
It is interesting that fillies do so well in the Arc. It is counter to the results in most other major races. The time of year? The design of the course? A style of training?
Haya Zark suffered a fatal pulmonary hemorrhage, not a fracture as I had mistakenly assumed.
