Eric Lamaze - Hickstead - Canada
Phillipe Le Jeune - Vigo d´Arsouilles - Belgium
Rodrigo Pessoa - HH Rebozo - Brasil
Adullah Al Sharbatly - Seldana di Campalto - Saudia Arabia
Europe v N.America v S.America v Asia
Quite the international showdown.
I’m cheering for the Americas:winkgrin:
Go Eric -yeah for Canada -congratulations.
I love the final four in show jumping, it’s such a great concept and a wonderful test of horsemanship.
Go Eric!!!
First place with a broken foot.
And 8th place for John Pearce. Go Canada!
That’s awesome. What a great mix. That’s what the WORLD equestrian games is all about!
YAY ERIC!!!
I am so excited to see how other people manage on Hickstead!
Ooooooh, no Sapphire.
The horses
Hickstead, 14yo, Dutch Warmblood, 16hh - stallion
Vigo d´Arsouilles, 12yo Belgian Warmblood, 16.3hh - stallion
HH Rebozo, 10yo, Mexican Sporthorse, 16.1hh - stallion
Seldana di Campalto, 11yo, Dutch Warmblood, 16.2hh - mare
I think Rodrigo can handle Hickstead, not sure about the other two.
Eric can ride almost any horse, but of course I am biased.
I am liking his chances.
What time is it on at?
Hoping for Eric or Rodrigo to win!! Still sad about Sapphire not being able to make it in. Ah well, I still think she is far beyond outstanding!
Does anyone know what happened to Checkmate?
Allez Eric Allez!! Go Eric Go!!
and Hickstead too!!
It’s on Universal Sports Network at 5 pm here, so 8 pm Eastern. I just checked the Alltech-WEG website and it shows a start time of 8 pm in KY. While there I found the individual standings.
Checkmate had an awkward jump into the last combination, got discombobulated, and did a drive-by at the next fence. I thought that Meredith might end up in the faux river (at least I assume the riverboats are supposed to be in a river) after he veered out. After that she took a courtesy fence and withdrew.
Oh, this is going to be good. (rubs hands together in gleeful anticipation)
CBC is airing it the 16th. I guess I’ll hear the results before then:)
Congratulations to Eric and Hickstead!
John Pearce too. Jolly good show to all!
Woot! Go Hickstead and Eric!!
Should be a fun one!
Can someone please post results as they happen??

I am on the other side of the fence… While it is a great crowd pleaser, it isn’t really fair to the horses. Sit down and think about how many jumps they have jumped this week already - including schooling jumps. Now add 28 more, plus warmups for 4 riders (which are admittedly limited in the Final 4)… That’s a lot of jumps in 6 days, and a whole lot of jumps on the last day when they are already tired.
Mind you that is not to say that I won’t be there watching tomorrow night, because I will be. I want to see it myself before it (hopefully) becomes a thing of the past.
Agree fully w/ Kinsella.
4 rounds, 4 warmups, 4 different riders over 1.60m or so? Most of these horses do 1 or 2 classes a show. It’s not really fair, especially after the already grueling week.
