FInally - a "Balimo!"

Or equivalent, in many ways.

I had two Balimo stools, once upon a time. They both broke - the wood. Others reported the same thing. Too bad, it was very pretty. I’ve been looking for one for some years, because I found that it really helped my range of motion and sense of how to position and move my pelvis. I think I even posted here, during my search. And a month or two ago, I did another Google search, and came up with someone who was planning on making some. Joan has given Balimo clinics and understands how it has to move in order to help the rider. I ordered two, and got them yesterday. It is great! The frame is metal, so it will not break. I used it this morning and got better canter transitions, because I had worked on that specific movement.

So, for those who have been looking for one, and for those who will read about it and think it could be useful, here is a link https://www.theridersedge.ca/the-wave-1

Thanks for the reminder. I had mine stashed under my desk and just got it out. Hip lube!

Wow, thanks! These suckers are impossible to get in the USA.

I have a stool that is shaped like a “saddle” that I loved, but my office now has carpet so I need a chair mat for it, since it does have wheels. I would love to see that stool and the one I have morph. THAT would be something!!

I am fortunate! My Balimo has lasted to about 10 years and I use it daily sitting at my computer. I LOVE it! This looks like a goo alternative though

Good to know there is an alternative. I got a Balimo for my office several years ago (and a few co-workers followed suit). It’s in my home workspace during the pandemic, but I don’t sit on it nearly enough as my desk is standing height, but I need to make a point of using it more.

This looks like an interesting option: https://murdochmethod.com/product/anywhere-saddle-chair-practice-your-riding-anywhere/?goal=0_6053a29c4f-c020fe1eb8-324763697&mc_cid=c020fe1eb8&mc_eid=3565ad94fc
