Finger Lake Race Track -- End of the Season -- Many New Homes -- Warmest Thanks

I’m so glad to see our Finest getting placed! Thunderstormer was a DOLL. I know one little boy (the owner/trainer’s grandson) who will be very sorry to see that horse go… Mr. A. said that his little grandson, who is five, called the horse “T’under” and led him around and brushed him.

So sorry about Rock and Roll Roan. This happens sometimes and it’s a booger when it does.

Noted New Yorker, the dark, sweet gelding (like chocolate - ha ha) needs a home. His trainer is VERY flexible on the price to a great home and will even deliver to a reasonable distance. NNY will be going to the home farm but really needs a place. His groom just LOVES this sweetie. Trail riding or snuggling anyone?

We also just listed a sweet horse named Napoleon Dynomite. He’s another light riding or companion horse. Anybody got room in their hearts for him?

Awesome!! Love the Gone West line. I hope you have many happy years together!

Kentucky load

Just thought I’d let you guys know that I am trying to get a second load together to head down here week after Christmas to Louisville if anyone is on the fence!

email me at heidischmid@gmail.com or give me a call! 502-922-1460

SO GREAT, congrats! I love him and think he will be fantastic for you…

Congratulations - that boy made my eyes pop! Stunning.

Thunderstormer looks amazing, like a real solid citizen that’ll carry you cross country with little effort! Sorry about R and RR, but I’m a firm believer in the whole “meant to be” thing. Things happen for a reason.

I’ve just noticed that my gal is marked as placed…I’m SO excited to go and get her. I went and bought a new blanket for her, with the neck attachment, so she doesn’t get a chill when she arrives.I have the farrier lined up to pull the plates, the stall is ready, if blanket doesn’t fit, the size up is on hold at the tack shop(hard to buy for a horse I have yet to see in person, but I have a good idea) Two very green, very nice round bales have been dropped off, so Ms. SR will be able to just chillax, eat, and enjoy life. She’ll go out with our aged pony mare(love the seniors, they make GREAT nannies) and our other 3 yr old TB, who is as kind as can be.

Counting down the days till Saturday…

Announcement: I just bought Thunderstormer! Just a minute ago!

Now for shipping…[/QUOTE]

INSANELY JEALOUS!!! But HUGELY happy for you!!!

Please keep us updated, enjoy that big classy dude…

Me too … AWESOME!

Mapleshade, we regular COTH readers know you have a great eye for OTTB prospects.

If you coud go shopping among Finger Lakes listings, who woud be your top picks (anyone on the fence shopping, pay attention here!)

I think I’m going to start a new thread so we can keep track of all the Finest who’ve gone home with COTHers…I was out visiting mine again today and fitted his bridle (he has a very Arab-like head…I may need to break out the leather punch) and took him for another walk. He also stood nicely at the mounting block while the BO stood on top and stroked his back (learning not to step off while being mounted was a huge challenge for my last OTTB.)

So glad to hear Thunderstormer is headed for a new career–and I have room in my heart for Me Me Anna, but sadly not room in a barn…

Sounds like you are a bit excited  Congratulations!! And remember we want pictures!!

Looks like someone snatched up Stately Pegasus pretty darn quick!

There’s a little confusion there. First I heard he was sold, then I heard that he wasn’t. I just put him, and Call to Duty back up, just in case.

Congrats, Spyglass!

Frankly, if I were judging a conformation clinic, I’d put the one you bought up over the one you missed out on.

Best of luck with him!

Started a new thread so we can keep track of updates on the Finest while they move to their new homes…

I would be stunned if Stately Pegasus isn’t snapped up quick…he’s just insanely good-looking.

Great Idea! : ) I found it already!

Spyglass, it’s a shame you had the disappointment of missing a horse you really wanted, but WOW! I think the horse you got is far better than the one you wanted in the first place .

I have to say Spyglass, I agree with the others. Your new boy is one of the nicest horses I’ve seen listed anywhere ALL YEAR!. He’ll be a dream to ride physically. I ain’t as young as I used to be so this is becoming more and more important to me .

FatDinah- you must know I love to drool so I’ll play  . My most favorite is Word Spinner. I have NO idea why he’s still listed!

Next picks (not considering age, size, gender and soundness) are:
Stately Pegasus
Maria’s Treasure
Somewhereinbetween
Redemption
Love That Wicked

Also like
Lagio Ditutti
Jo Cosmo
Little Jacob
Go Shorty
Live Action
Dan and John
Outtabeajet
A Young Minister
Key Union
Extreme Speed
Outskip

And last but certainly not least, I have a huge soft spot for Wing- somehow I think he’s going to be pretty special.

Just showed Thunderstormer’s listing to my husband and even he said “Whoa that is a nice horse…” SIGH.

I agree with MS that he is going to be lovely to ride…

As sad as I am that he can’t come home with me, I am glad he went to a COTHer.
