Fingers crossed for these two - I’ve emailed everyone I know about Somewhereinbetween. She’s is indeed a lovely mare and I was hoping I could get someone I know here to spring her. I’ll be so happy if she heads south!!!
I don’t suppose anyone is shipping West, are they?
I just want to point out that if anyone is reluctant to buy one of these horses because they are uncomfortable retraining an OTTB, that there are many COTH’ers who have a lot of experience retraining them and take horses in training. Mapleshade and CoolMeadows come to mind.
Sometimes 90 days of training w/an expert is your new best friends best friend!
Well, I kind of ran into a hitch when talking with Somewhereinbetween’s trainer today, so if anyone else is interested, go for it! I really like this mare and think she’ll go really far in her new career, I don’t want someone not to call on her because they think I’m getting her. I did call but I’m not sure she’ll be coming to VA with me~NOTHING is wrong with her, it’s not that. So, long story short, anyone interested in her, call on her.
Would anyone be interested in housing an OTTB for the spring to be let down? Found a real sweetie, Jolly Oop (4 years old, dark grey, 4 maiden claim races), off of Leighton’s give-aways but i am a college student and cannot afford the ridiculously expensive board on the east coast for a horse that just needs to transition down for a few months. Feed, farrier, etc can be compensated. If anyone has room, please PM me – details can be hammered out.
Did anybody get Jo Cosmo???
As far as I know, Jo Cosmo is still around!
Stately Pegasus
I was wondering if anyone in this forum knew who took Stately Pegasus home. If he is going somewhere that is willing to part with him as a dressage prospect for myself, please let me know. I was slow on the uptake, and called the trainer too late and missed him! I saw postings on here that said he is a great horse and a dressage prospect, and he sounds like the kind of horse I have been looking for! My direct e-mail is DressagePrincess18@gmail.com or send a PM - Thank you very much

And clint–depending on what the shipper would want, he hasn’t refunded my deposit yet…if you wanted, you could pay me back and that deposit could go towards your shipment, and that way the hauler doesn’t have to refund me, you’ve got a deposit, and I could get the money back faster.
ANY UPDATES ???
Any idea of who’s still needing a home, who’s price might be more flexible ? Not that you ladies need ANY more to do !
How about Carr Ride? I would venture to say anyone giving away this nice of a gelding needs to find him a home, and you can’t get much more flexible than free! Also, 4 nice mares are up there for free and I’m guessing they are pretty desperately seeking a home…
We need to find homes for Skee Love and Cowboy Jr.

These two are the most urgent that I know of. Both are free. Actually, you can pretty much bet that any of the free horses should be considered urgent.
Carr Ride
Carr Ride is a beautiful, quiet gelding, but he DOES have an ankle that needs time off and will probably be only for light riding, trails, pleasure, etc. Sorry if he has been misrepresented. Want to be clear about that (talked to his former groom and got that info today).
The broodies, including the earner Me Me Anna, need some action. And ISHI needs some help getting Somewhereinbetween.
All of you have been incredibly forthcoming and generous and this has been the very best Christmas season ever!
Anyone perhaps willing to go take a look at a horse for me?
I really really like Redemption, but I’m in CO and need a set of eyes on the east coast to take a second look in person.
Can I plug Me Me Anna a little? Her sire Brown Arc was the sire of multiple stakes winning turf mare Perfect Arc, and another of his offspring, Deceptive Stroke, was a winner racing over fences. It hurts my heart that I can’t take her myself (unless we win Powerball this week) but I cannot support more than my current horse.
She’s free! can someone give her a chance?
Okay, I’m going to get pithy here. Just watched one of the Santa Clause movies yesterday with my daughter, the one with Tim Allen. If you haven’t seen it, there’s a part where Santa’s sleigh tanks in Central Park because the Clausometer is depleted because there isn’t enough Christmas spirit to power the sleigh. As the spirit was found and lifted, Santa’s sleigh took off and was powered by the spirit of believers to get his sleigh on his mission.
That’s how I view my fellow COTHers. Let’s power Santa’s sleigh and get the stragglers homes. You’re all awesome and have gone above and beyond, but there are still some hard-luck cases.
Whatever you can do to help will be well rewarded! This is the crunch. Step up, especially those who have been hanging on the fence.
What a great bunch of folks. Love you enablers and takers alike!
Somewhereinbetween
There’s a great deal to like about this mare. I think her hiney and balance are spectacular. The rest-- wide forehead and eye and general pretty-ness are a bonus.
So questions from those of you who have seen her live-- How hunter-like does she jog? Is it flat-kneed and from the shoulder?
I assume you haven’t seen her gallop or canter, but when she’s walking, how much over-reach is there?
I’m asking because being that pretty and 15.2, she might make a nice small jr. hunter prospect if her stride is long enough.
These finished horses are worth some dough. But the advent of the under-3’ divisions mean there’s more room for smaller/shorter strided horses, too.
And do y’all see a splint on the outside of her LF?
Just askin’!
Awww, Skee Love reminds me of Z!
Holy cow, I just looked at Somewhereinbetween for the first time. She looks fine! Why hasn’t she been snapped up?!
