If Say Halo Sandy is HALF as durable and honest as his sire. . . .anyone who takes him home will get one hell of a horse.
I am once again tempted. The 3 that I have here from the last several years are relaxing in a large pasture and told me that there maybe room for one more. I like the girls with injuries, given enough time they become absolute angels. I like Quatorzes Girl as well…I have an older mare by the same sire and she can be a handful but not mean. But Hallistic is pulling at me. Are there any headshots of her?
It has taken me awhile to get used to the new listing format as well…it has nothing to do with knowledge but rather the use (and the “I’m used to doing it this way” ) factor.
I keep telling myself its too early in the season to find another filly/mare but of course my stallion thinks its the perfect time LOL
Anon, There is a nice head shot of Hallistic that I just posted on our Facebook page. The link is below. If you step up for her that would be SOOOO wonderful. She seemed to be saying to us “please get me off the track and give me a chance!” She was very sweet.
Her trainer’s son – who speaks good English unlike the trainer – just got in touch with us saying she needs to move ASAP. They have another horse coming in that needsher stall. This really is an urgent situation – tugs at our heartstrings too. Call the number listed for Angel, the son.
Thanks Buffalo Colleen, I just read where she has been removed from the track and is now safe. I was laid up with a bad cold for 2 days but am glad that she landed safely.
Just wanted to let everyone know that True Prospect and Wild for Summer both have new homes at the stable I board at. True P was bought by my trainer and is such a nice mare! WFS is the new buddy of a young boarder who tragically lost her first OTTB in Feb to a twisted gut.
Heliodoro - Thanks for the happy news!
How is your fellow doing?
I saw Wild for Summer’s (former) owner/trainer at the track yesterday, and they were thrilled that he went to such a great home. Summer was much loved by them, and will surely be much loved by the lucky young woman who now has him. This horse is such a sweetheart, and he deserves a doting person! I know they looked at many very nice horses, and I’m so happy that Summer was the chosen one.
Heliodoro, I’m trying to find info on True Prospect. No hits on that name on the jockey club names registry; only hit on equibase is a Fla bred colt born 25 years ago. Who was the trainer of your trainer’s new mare? Was she registered/papered yet? Even when we haven’t yet listed a horse we love to keep track of all the FL Finests who find great new homes, and we are interested in their breeding so our knowledge base of lines that turn out well for sport keeps growing.
I think your trainers’ farm now has many more Finests than several of the trainers at the track! I am overdue for a visit to see them all.
I believe it’s spelled Tru, not True. She’s a big bodied chestnut mare who is just happy to do whatever you want! I don’t believe she broke her maiden, just raced once or twice and then turned back out on pasture. I don’t recall the trainer’s name.
Brolio is doing very well. He’s starting to figure out that while jumping is fun, he should probably listen to his rider more often than not! He went to his first xc school a few weeks ago and had no problems with the jumps (big watery ditch he needed a lead over, understandably!), but more with the jump-stop-jump some more. He is figuring out that standing after a small course of jumps is a nice break and not something to get worked up over!!
Thanks, Helio… still no hits on jockey club or equibase on tru paired with anything close to prospect… I will try to find out her real ID from your trainer. Love it when people step up for chestnut mares!
Glad to hear Bro is learning to be patient! The amazing jumping talent is certainly there. I still would love to see him in the hunter ring.
I am a dork, True Prospect is Philip Dutton’s farm… Tru Favorite is the FLF!

True Favorite, a 2007 model? (There is no “Tru Favorite.”)
Another group with a wide range is now posted. Bays, a gray, and a chestnut. Geldings and a mare, all good looking.
Some of the horses aren’t even staying on the listings for the week before they are gone. If you like a horse, get a move on.
If you want the particulars on anyone, BC can probably weigh in on the ones that she has listed.
The FL Finests are flying off the listings!
R/w/O sure is right: so far this season, many of the beautiful TBs at Finger Lakes that we have listed have sold to great new homes in less than a week after we got their photos and write-ups posted on our website and FB. Some have even sold before we even got them posted, since shoppers came around to look and got a sneak preview. Four of the six horses I photographed last weekend have already sold, including two of the nicest ones I have seen in a while: Rutherford B and Metaxie.
And then just yesterday, we saw 5 more beauties – I am just blown away by the quality of the horses we have been asked to list this season so far. FL Finests indeed!
For those who missed out on the stunning Rutherford B, we have just posted a young sound bay gelding named Andromeda’s Destiny who is just as high quality a prospect – and 1/3 the prce. We thought this horse was so impressive that we tried to talk the trainer into putting a higher price on him, but she said she is overwhelmed at the moment and really needs to downsize, so he is priced as an exceptional bargain. This one could go in any direction: show hunter, eventing, dressage. Hurry!
And then as we were wiping the drool off our faces over AD, the drool came right back when the stunning Ming’s Revenge was pulled out for his photo session. What a handsome hunk of golden glory! And he is unraced, and his legs are as clean as the proverbial whistle. He has just been put into race training at the mature age of 6, because his breeders had too many to deal with. But they would also like to sell him before running him… but will try racing him if he doesn’t sell fast. So please, someone who wants a gorgeous horse who is mature, kind, sensible, and a lovely mover, please spare him from ever having to race!
Oh, and then the very athletic lovely moving filly Winna Winna, and then Dade City, who just shouts great event prospect, and the puppy dog sweet gorgeous gray Lateef. A terrific group of new horses for your viewing pleasure!
I am DROOLING over Ming’s Revenge! I want him!
I really love Andromeda’s Destiny–someone buy him!
Anyone who still thinks TBs are wild, crazy, fire breathing dragons needs to go watch Dade City’s video. He looks like he is a good soul. Just adorable!
I agree Sparky! What a lovely gelding he is. His owner/trainer, shown in the video, loves her horses and it shows. If he doesn’t get snapped up quickly I will be surprised.
This was the weekend for unusual markings. There is a bay with flashy white markings with black spots and a warhorse ($500,000 in winnings!) who has the coolest white spot on his hip/thigh. There is a gray as well. Photos and video are up for those we have video of. Our volunteers braved the muggy weather so you can window shop from the comfort of your own home. Don’t drag your feet if there is someone you really like.
Also, there have been price drops on Tree Topper Chuck and Andromeda’s Destiny if anyone was considering one of those two.
I met Quad Aces last fall, turned out at the farm, and really LOVED him. Super cute, friendly, light on his feet. I wish I had room.
