Fiontini sold

Remember this video of Charlotte Dujardin testing riding Fiontini?

Andreas Helgstrand has now bought her with the goal of the 2020 Olympics.

I love this mare! This is the second time Andreas Helgstrand has owned her. In October 2016, he sold Fiontini to Beata Soderberg. Now he’s bought her back. Severo Jurado López will remain her rider as they shoot for the 2020 Olympics.

She is a lovely mare! I remember watching this a while back and thinking Charlotte was going to trot out the gate and down the road to home!

WOW. She is stunning.

What type of wraps is she wearing? I’m just watching on my phone with a poor connection, but do they appear to wrap higher than typical wraps?

they’re underbandages under polo wraps. Very common in Europe.

Huh! I will have to google; I haven’t seen them before. Thanks.

ETA: like these? and cooling?

I have not seen gel. Most I’ve seen are like these ribbed or channeled ones from Eskadron.

My new horse came with these, they were part of his daily tackup at the SD-area barn where we bought him. He shipped here ahead of me and when I got back to AZ and became my own groom, he was switched over to sport boots. He hasn’t been polo-wrapped since.

Very commonly used now in Southern CA

More commonly they are ribbed or channeled, I have not seen gel.

Google Eskadron, Climatex, Under Wrap and you will see them right away. I tried to link but apparently I’m not approved to post a reply with a link in it.

They are common in Southern CA, which is where my new horse came from. I have a set but they have not been used since I got back to AZ and into the routine of readying him every day. I am my own groom and I don’t do wraps, I do sport boots.

The eskadron climatex bandage pads are popular. I’m sure many brands make something similar. Gives some knock protection to the knee for the extravagant movers and keeps the wrap cooler.

i find them nice to use and the underbandages are easier to wash than the wraps so they help to keep them cleaner.

I’m so surprised I haven’t seen them here yet! I will need to figure out how to apply; I was hoping they might be a little bit more cooling… I’ve been playing around with different types of leg protection but really right now he’s just going naked mostly.

One of the ones I saw advertised that they were coolong… Not sure how that would work while riding or afterwards or what. Maybe I will play around with them.

Thanks! And good luck this weekend!

Thank you very much, all good points!

Sorry, OP, for hijacking this thread.

She is a beautiful horse and wow!

Oh yes, and still such fun to watch and listen to, and that trot just WOW.
