His extra information on Pedigree Query says he was the sire of numerous hunters and jumpers. His son Fire Maker, also FL, is the sire of Becky Holder’s newish ride Can’t Fire Me with whom she has had very good success.
Can’t Fire Me has Diplomat Way as damsire, and I just noticed that puts Ksar on the first page of his pedigree. He’s also double Grey Dawn and has Never Bend as well as Princequillo.
Please, if anyone knows anything about these horses (Fire Dancer and Fire Maker), tell us.
FIRE DANCER
Although I am into the hunters/jumpers here in S.Fla…I do not know about any of the Fire Dancers in the ring here. I do not know Fire Maker at all. But years ago when I raced for a lot of years here at Calder, Gulfstream and at that time Hialeah, there were quite a few FDs that raced. For some reason the fillies were better racehorses than the boys,who seemed to be a bit too refined, smallish, and nervous. Don’t know if I helped you at all, but am really pleased to see them get some acclaim in the ring!
I raced Diplomat Ways, loved Never Bend as well, but they could be a “little tough”…in the good way. The Gray Dawns I knew were long strided, loved the turf.
I don’t know anything about Fire Dancer et al - and in all my research on Diplomat Way and his offspring that I’ve done I haven’t run across those names. Now that doesn’t necessarily mean anything as it is sometimes hard to find things like that, but just saying I didn’t find anything. 
I have a DW granddaughter though that I LOVE, and I still feel that she is possibly my “best” broodmare - her kids are fantastic jumpers and have the BEST minds/trainablity/rideablity. So brave… I can see the “toughness” that FF talks about above - my mare and her kids are like that. They aren’t “wimps” and don’t spook easily. They also all have her fantastic hind end - my mare has been mistaken for a QH on more than one occassion LOL. We joke about her “ghetto booty”, but she has a ton of power behind her with it. ;). There are photos of her and her kids on my website - mare’s name is Encore, and her kids are Emerald Impressions, Emerald Fire, Emerald Tsar, and Emerald Ice.
I’d be interested in this stallion though - is there a website or any other info on him??
I’d love to hear more about Fire Dancer as well. He’s the dam sire to one of my TB broodmares. In my research, I came across very little about him, though I do remember a brief snippet that mentioned he was considered a good broodmare sire (for racing).

I have always been a fan of Fire Dancer (1975). I knew some of his get in VA as well as owning a lovely mare by him. I visited Fire Dancer in FL a couple of years before he died. I still kick myself for not breeding to him.
He sired a horse that went to Rolex multiple times for a Canadian rider and I was also told by his owner that he sired a horse that went to the Australian Olympics.
The mare I had was big and produced very nice babies. I bred her to a TB once for a sporthorse - a son of Secretariat out of an Ack Ack mare. My mare’s name is Beea, and her tb foal is Fire Bunny by War Secretary. They are on on del mar.
Oh, and Fire Dancer was the sire of the sport horse stallion Chris the Dancer - show name Selleck. He seemed underutilized.

Fire Dancer was also the sire of the hunter stallion Wedgewood = registered name Parkhill Dancer. He died the day I called to breed to him…

Some of Fire Dancer’s granddaughters are still in Pennsylvania - Xanthus Farm & Tea Party Stable have some, we have some, too - our foundation mare was a grand daughter.
G1-winning sprinter Fabulous Strike, by Smart Strike, was out of a Fire Dancer granddaughter. I think some of his “cousins” are on the Xanthus Farm website.
The chestnut is the stallion Wedgewood, grey is Selleck, the bay is the mare I owned - Beea and the eventer is her son.

I used to own a mare by Fire Maker out of a Wild Wind (Never Bend) x Abe’s Hope mare. I didn’t have her long enough to come to much of a conclusion about her ability, except that she was not a hunter. 
She was about 15.2, feminine, araby looking head. I have pics of her if you’re interested. Last I heard she ended up as a broodie for someone I know, but I have not been able to find out any info about her current situation.
I don’t know about Fire Dancer, but we all know about DW, that horse put some jump in his lines. I’m personally fond of DW as damsire, not that the horse in my profile speaks to that love or anything.

No joke! And that jump goes on for several generations. My DW g’daughter has had 4 foals now and there is one filly by one of her boys. Every single one has the exact same powerful round jump that she has (and the love of it). Would love to find a good DW grandson to breed one of my mare’s fillies to… That isn’t a racehorse stud fee
IMO, Diplomat Way is VERY well proved as a sport horse TB line.

I know this is a post much after this thread has ended, but I have been trying to do some research on my old guy. He is sired by Fire Dancer. His registered name was Stealth Dancer, but after becoming a show hunter doing the working hunters in New York before I owned him his name if Field Of Dreams.
I was startled at the resemblance of my “Jack” and the photo of Fire Dancer, and thought I might be able to add to the discussion of his bloodline in the hunter ring. My guy was wonderful and took me through my final junior years. I adore this horse more than anything and am sad to have had to retire him a couple years ago. He is by far the best horse I have ever had the pleasure to ride.
Fire Dancer is certainly the same type as his sire, Northern Dancer, who often gets “beat up” by the sporthorse breeders about his produce, conformation or whatever. However, I think it is worth noting that many steeplechasers carry his blood up close, most notable is Northern Baby and his produce. Northern Dancer certainly had a “caboose” on him and his progeny carries on through both sires and dams. I had the great pleasure of meeting him and The Minstrel and he certainly had great presence and an athletic look about him. I had the last foal by his Canadian Champion grandson, Greek Answer and he was the typical ND type, very tough and very athletic. Maybe those who value jumping and grit should not blow him off so casually. JMHO.

It is unfortunate that they get “beat up” for his produce because I have not met a more level headed TB with a phenomenal personality and attitude, not to mention how stoic he is. He is incredibly athletic and has some wonderful ribbons at shows like The Hampton Classic and Madison Square Garden in the working hunters and other divisions before I owned him. I would love to know how others in the line do in the hunters, because if they are anything like my guy, I would never want another blood line.
Fire Dancer
I owned Smooth Sailing aka Purgatorio. He was an amazing horse. Lots of scope and loved to Jump. He did have a bit of Fire to him for sure, but a heart bigger than life. He is the only horse I’ve ridden that went slower towards the barn than out towards the trails. I also owned his dam Prim Miss, she produced a few more athletic horses, but I think the Fire Dancer/prim miss was a great nick for sport horses. Probably the Never Bend line and the Precipatation line are ones I would look to find with Fire Dancer Offspring. If they are out there, they maybe worth a look if you are looking to jump… Anything:). Smooth Sailing was 16.3 and lanky. The breeder in Ky said his size was from his dam line grand dam. Puritanical.
