Yeah, that does not seem like a fun event to be at… :/. I was at the Pan Ams with my horse, and it was relaxed and exciting. That just looks scary.

RE skydy’s #91 post: TIEC is in the 4-6" yellow region of that map. It’s located just to the right of where the NC/SC/GA borders come together, just as the SC border becomes flat.
That event does seem to be going quite off the rails … 
On Monday, heikh Mohammed made an unannounced entrance into the Keeneland Yearling Sales (laying down many millions as he bought the cream of the crop).
My guess is that he decided to swing by Keeneland on his way to watch the endurance at WEG. He was at the very top of endurance riders until a few years ago. Now his son is at the top of the sport. So it is not unreasonable for him to be at WEG and personally observe this clusterf*ck. Oops. One does not screw with his sport…

So did they ever stop the leaders who were still on course? Or are those poor horses still out there in the dark for no reason?

The course never should have been used, and they should either have postponed to tomorrow early, or cancelled then. It’s also too late to get the endurance people and their animals home to free up space in the most solid looking of the stables, and housing. However, saying most solid isn’t giving me much confidence. I’m wondering what will be left of the arenas, and cross country course after the wind and rain end.
The only people who are looking good are the local people who have offered housing to contestants, and grooms who would be in jeopardy from the pathetic housing on site.
I know they had two years to plan and build instead of four, but if the organizers didn’t think they could do better than this, then they shouldn’t have offered to host.
