I believe he is working the event, from what I gather from the video.
What aspects of this event fall under TIEC vs. FEI? As in, did the FEI inspect and approve the vet stops (such as water placement) and provide people to direct the course this morning, or are they more hands-off? The construction scenes are clearly a TIEC issue, but what about the rest of the problems?
Also, for those in the know, is this much pavement work normal? My heart raced when they cantered on the wet roads! :eek:

I guess he has a huge data allowance as heās broadcasting live. They probably are really not used to this much rain!
Is endurance stopped for rain, mud, darkness, etc? That seems to be one of his complaints, that itās raining, muddy, will finish in darkness, etc.

And I donāt understand why they had to do WEG in September, when itās hurricane season? Why couldnāt they have done it earlier or later?

At this point, and with as many gruesome horse deaths and animal cruelty the UAE has been guilty of- AERC needs to distance themselves as much as possible in order to even keep a membership. The sport is DYING here. And itās mostly because it gets a bad wrap due to these FEI Flat Races
THIS IS NOT OUR SPORT in the US!!
AERC almost has to drop the āEnduranceā part and just call itself competitive distance riding or some such thatās not CTR.
I hate to even call ANY of my rides a ārace.ā Itās not a race to the finish for 99% of us. Itās a test of our riding skills, against the (usually RUGGED!) terrain, the horses fitness and mettle, the weather, and last, other competitors.
To Finish Is To Win.
To all of you watching this debacle, this is not what real endurance is here in the US

His anger probably has more to do with th fact that Maktoumās son (Crown Prince) Hamdan is in the race. I donāt know if crown princes melt though.
