First foals by stallion

It took a while but Blood-Horse published an announcement yesterday about my stallion’s first foal, born April 14. The colt was followed quickly by three fillies. I am having so much fun with mine! I know this is not BIG racing news, but still wanted to share.

Congratulations!

Congrats!

I remember JJ.

We bred this guy and people have been kind enough to email pictures of his foals. Our “guy” wasn’t exactly front page racing and breeding news either. But to us he was. So I know exactly what you mean!

Thanks, Gumtree and Laurie.

Gumtree, it must be great to have that connection with Winchill and nice to have him in PA. I hope he does well. It is so fun to see the foals coming!

Congrats! I always wondered from your screen name if you had any affiliation with him, but never asked.

Congrats!
Am familiar with one of the connections.

Much congratulations, well wishes and luck!

Very cute!!

You’d be very surprised to discover JJ’sLuckyTrain is now a trail horse here in southern California.

Ad on my local Craigslist for a 6 yr old TB. The ad has a couple of racing photos that are of JJ’sLuckyTrain. Along with a screenshot from Pedigreequery with the sire and dam partially obscured and only the racing record/earnings amounts showing on the top. It took me 30 seconds to determine the pedigree was of JJ, and searching on Google images for JJ brought up the exact photos used in the ad.

What I can’t decide is whether this guy is trying to scam a Buyer, or whether he is a moron and was scammed himself. He insisted at first the horse was named JJ’sLuckyTrain when I asked him for the horse’s real registered name. Then said the horse was named JJ, and that the person at the track whom he got the horse from is the one who sent him the racing photos. No explanation as to why someone tried to hide the sire and dam on the screenshot. He’s had the horse for less than two months.

Have to be a pretty clueless Buyer not to look at the horse’s tattoo and figure out who it really is… Not a bad looking horse, actually, but the red flags are waving ALL over the place on this one.

Wow. You can tell him that the real J J’s Lucky Train is in Virginia, in my front field. Pretty easy to lift photos online. You would think he might try to get the age correct, though. JJ is 8…

And, his foals are doing great. Three showed at the WVTBA show in October, all did well, best placing was a second for one of the fillies. But, a good learning experience for all.
