My Daughter was invited to participate last Saturday. She loved it ! The dogs, the Huntmaster and the host, all were exceptional. She talked about the hunt for two hours afterwards, I heard about every stride. She had no idea what they ate for lunch, but it was delicious. Thanks to all that made it such a memorable event.
So glad she had a great time! I hope she has many opportunities to go again!
“like” !!!
3 cheers for you too!
Congrats and thank you for supporting her in pursuing a sport of a lifetime. She’ll be eternally grateful all her life. We need more horsie dads! Hooray for Horse Dads!! Be sure to join in by going to the parties or socializing too. Hunts always like /need to encourage juniors. Car follow when you can and YOU will have some fun out there too!
Good On Ya!
Jumper Dad,
We loved having you both with us this past Saturday! It was a good day and our hounds did their usual great job. They ran a fox to ground about a half hour into the day. They then went back to work and got a coyote to his feet and he kept us all busy for another two hours.

I hope that you and your daughter will continue to participate with the Metamora Hunt. I will PM you to ask for your email address so that we might keep you informed with our monthly enewsletter.
Welcome aboard!
Sounds like a great hunt. Hope we have another convert.

Thanks for posting that link!
Keep checking the messages at the kennels: season’s not over until the footing’s too bad! Throw on lots of layers, toe warmers, a balaklava, and you’re good. We both wear long, down-filled old overcoats around the barn before and after the hunt: keeps you warm and clean. I found mine at a resale shop for $10, so horse slobber is not any worry. This time of year, too, the attire rules are a bit relaxed, so long as you are still dressing respectfully for the land-owners. I found a pair of two-sizes larger breeches at A Bit Used, and I can fit thick long-underwear under them. See you out there!
So, I’ve gotta ask. Is it MetaMORa or MetAMora Hunt?
MetaMORa
A great group of people. I have had the pleasure of hunting with them a number of times, both in their country and in ours.
Its citizens are called:
yup, meta-morons, but in a kind way, nothing snarky. Where an invitation to a party finishes with: RSVP by (date). Try to come, otherwise YOU’ll be the person we talk about…
Ahhh… this thread sure does make me think about Ronnie and the hunts she must have already ridden up above…
Ronnie has certainly been missed. I love her big mare Carmel. When I first met Ronnie, she had just bought Carmel, and I thought to myself “wow, now that takes courage! Here’s this tiny lady rider who has had her colors for longer than I’ve been on this earth, and she is willing to start over with a new, young, huge mare. I hope I always have that kind of fortitude.”

me too and I like it
Wonderful report!
Everyone is right on:yes:! You, too, Dad can be an important member:cool: of the Hunt community;
there are plenty of unmounted activities; you might stop in at the Kennels and see if you can help with the hound walking, especially the puppies:winkgrin: and the trail clearing, VERY:yes: important;)
not to mention the many social activities, breakfasts, dinners, etc.
