First Hunter Pace!

My daughter and I went to our first Hunter Pace on Saturday with friends, and had a BLAST!!! It was quite an adventurous first Pace, as it started raining after about 10 min. on course, and we had to call 911 for a rider that came off (not from our group)! It still was one of the most fun things I’ve done in a while though!

Here are a couple pictures I’ll share!

Love your photos! It looks like you had a great time! :)

ditto!

Oh you look so happy and so does your horse! How do you guys get your horses to do those water obstacles?? I have an obstacle “trained” horse who will not do those…though he doesn’t mind regular water at all.

Actually, this was the first time either my horse, or my daughter’s pony have been out on a hunt…we’ve crossed creeks before, but have never done the water obstacles or banks. Both of my horses did GREAT, and did not even hesitate to do them  I was pleasantly suprised

Glad you had a great time! Those look a lot like cross country jumps…just keep in mind that many, many hunts have natural water to cross with no “grooming.”

The hunter pace was pretty much a pace on a cross country course…and while that was our first time doing the water banks, etc…we have done the trail riding aspect many times-such as deep creek crossings and so on. We were ready for that, and the water banks were fun to play with also
