First Show for my Daughter after Type 1 Diabetes Diagnosis

Oct 18, 2013 my 10 year old daughter was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. It’s been a long cold winter without an indoor, but she has continued to ride her pony, snow, cold and all. She is a very active little girl, playing soccer and dancing irish, but riding is her favorite. Since her diagnosis she has grown 2" and lost 5 lbs! Horse shows are a bit trickier now. It’s hard to schedule blood testing, snacks, lunch, etc around her class list, but we did well for the first show. She had about 12 in each class and came home with 9 ribbons out of 9 classes, winning the Championship class and being the PeeWee Champion overall. I’m so proud of the young lady she has become!

So cute! Congrats.

Congratulations to your daughter and her pony. Also congratulations to you on the support you are providing - helping to mangage diabetes is not easy. What a great success story!
