Hi winter riders - I’m wondering how true the fit is on Kerrits winter breeches. If I usually wear a medium (28) of their breeches, would I be swimming in a large, or would they be just loose enough to comfortably add another layer underneath?
I wear 28 or 30 depending on the brand of breeches. I’m 5’2" and 120-123 lbs. I wear a medium in the Kerrits winter breeches. They aren’t tight/fitted but aren’t super baggy either.

I find Kerrits tends to run slightly large - or rather they are very stretchy. I get the kids so yet pants. I’ve never tried wearing a layer underneath though, they are already fleece lined.
Third vote for you to buy a medium. I am a 30 R in breeches and went for their large in the winter and it’s a bit too big.
Bonus tho: you will not need to add a layer under because these suckers are SO comfortable fleece lined. I LOVE them and regularly wear them for just outdoor winter activities that have nothing to do with horses.
Buy a medium – their winter breeches do tend to run a bit large. As in, I normally wear an XL and I can fit another pair of winter breeches underneath if necessary (yay for the days when I used to teach for 6 straight hours in the winter…ugh).
