I just got my new Tipp vest–the brand new “certified” one in the mail today. I did try it on in the store, though one size smaller than the one I ordered based on measurements. So… It hits me in the arm pits and I can’t put my arms comfortably into “riding position”. Is it me? Too big? The vest? I don’t want to ride in it, in case I need to return it. I love the slim profile, but if it hurts to wear then it’s no good to me.
Hmm. I haven’t had that problem with mine…
I’m a size 42 according to the measurements done but… It feels too big even with the cords tightened all the way. I had to order it from Dover, the only store with one in stock. Sigh. They are back ordered until August from the maker!!
Did you notice that problem with the one you tried on? Did it seem to fit OK? Maybe it is too big. Mine doesn’t tighten all the way so theoretically that makes the arm holes a little bigger. I really like mine - I’ve only worn it 3x so far but I find it a lot more comfortable than the old style. This one doesn’t ride up above my collarbones!
Thanks for the insight! I’m going to show my SIL who events and have her help mr decide. I have a Rodney Powell vest currently and it’s bulky but the arm holes are bigger and cut deeper onto the chest area.
Anyone have an Airowear Hickstead? They are designed for show jumpers! I’m very tempted to order one.
I tried it on in the store and it doesn’t fit me. I get a huge gap over over my chest, near the armhole. I think if you are decently endowed, this may be an issue…
Well, I’m a 36D…but everybody is shaped differently!
We’re proportionally about the same. I tried going down a size, and that helped, but did not eliminate the problem. The Airoware vest fit me very well, but the day I tried it on I was HOT and putting it on did not make me happy.
Yes–a gap over my chest and arm holes that hit me too high up on shoulder. The arm holes aren’t cut deep enough it seems for my conformation!
