Fit on Vented Helmets?

I am thinking of taking advantage of International Helmet Awareness Day to get a new vented helmet to use at home. I’ve always gone the traditional route, so I am not at all familiar with the different vented brands and styles.

Which ones are most likely to fit like a Charles Owen, which is what I’ve been wearing for many years? I am also open to the idea of getting a helmet with the MIPS technology.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Some schooling type helmets that fit more on the oval side:

Ovation Deluxe Schooler

Troxel Intrepid

Depending on which Charles Owen model you have, possibly a Tipperary Sportage.

Other ventilated helmets that cross into the show ring: IRH IR4G and IR4G XLT. I did not personally love the fit of the One K, even in the oval shape and I have the same feelings about the Samshield helmet.

The GPA Speed Air, at least the older model, was a pretty good fit on me as well. But full disclosure, I never rode in it, just tried it on in the store.

An AyR8 in the best fitting helmet I have owned and so far I’ve tried on 3 MIPS helmets.

Charles Owen MyPS was a no go for me because it was too deep for my head and covered my eyebrows almost entirely.

Trauma Void Lynx was also a no go. It was not quite as deep on my head as the MyPs, but was too round. It fit ok front to back, but gapped on the sides.

I have two Trauma Void Eq3 helmets which I like the fit of. However, depending on the shape of your head, some people find it too be too shallow.

I don’t care too much about the crossover factor, since I would probably still use my Charles Owen for the show ring. I’m just thinking about a good one to use at home in hot weather.

Thanks for the input!

I fit very well into a charles owen and also into the Trauma Void EQ3, which is a MIPS helmet.
