Equestrian wins the “oldest” by a long shot. Men tend to be older than women. The average age of Olympic males looks to me to be off the chart, while the average female age is 34. There are three over 60 female equestrian Olympians.

I was pleased to see that the article was not snarky and did not denigrate the existence of equestrian as an Olympic sport. Nothing about the horses doing all the work, either.
