"Flagged by the community and is temporarily hidden"

Very early this morning, @La-LaPopRider had two posts that were “flagged by the community and is temporarily hidden.”

How many people have to flag it before this happens?

I’m also curious how many flagged posts lead to a suspension

Great question!

I don’t know, but when I have flagged a spammer it is immediately put on hold, so maybe it takes only one flagging to do that?

Not sure that any number of flaggings lead to suspensions.
I think the Moderator decides those on the merits of the flagged post itself.
A spammer is banned right off, a heated discussion between posters may result in warning or a ban for a poster that crosses the civility rule.
How grievously the offense may weight on that also.

Just my guess.

The system automatically hides some posts based upon the number of posters who have flagged it, and what their reputation is within the system for moderators agreeing with past flags. I’m not sure of the exact algorithm it uses, but that’s the basic gist.

I see posts that are marked flagged but you can click on them and read them. I find when I flag obvious spam this happens instantly  but maybe I always the 10th person and only imagine I am the first

I think the bar is lower when posts are flagged as spam, and I think you have a good reliability rating in the system!

Thank you for the explanation.
