Ruidoso Downs Flood Update We’re showing ground-level footage from Ruidoso Downs where flash flooding has severely impacted the track and barn area. Horses and workers are trapped, and rescue access is severely restricted. This is a critical emergency. We’re calling on you to lift these voices up — share the footage, and send your thoughts and prayers to everyone affected, both human and equine.

Has anyone seen information on this guy trying to ride a horse out of the racetrack? Did they make it out?
This article says there are no deaths of humans or horses reported, and that in the face of the devastation that is the ‘bright spot’.

My daughter has been following it, said that they got all the horses out.
Didn’t Rudioso get flooded last year? Never mind, just read the article. One year later. And the rest of the QH meet is cancelled.

One horse died… track completely washed out/ruined… all humans okay.

My heart breaks for his connections.
saw some video of 2 greys being washed away after running loose. I know Ruidoso made some major improvements to culverts and drainage recently which costs a handsome penny; all of that now gone. It will be interesting to see if the track reopens; the damage is significant
