Flat rings on snaffle bits

This may be a stupid question but I’ve been having trouble finding French link eggbutt snaffles with round edged rings. The rings are flat edge in the size I want. Is this a new style? I prefer the look and feel of rounded over flat, unless there’s a mechanical difference of which I’m unaware.

I have typically only seen the rounded rings on a hollow mouth egg butt, never on a French link eggbutt.

I’ve never seen them rounded on a French link eggbutt either. My bit, and that’s the one I use on my horse, is I don’t know how old and has flat rings. I can’t speak to feel since the rounded rings have always been on other bits that have a completely different action.

My older mare has rounded rings on her French link eggbutt but I honestly can’t remember when/where I got it. Otherwise all I’ve found are flat. I believe you both have answered my question. Thanks guys!

FYI, this bit from Schneider’s looks to have rounded rings.

I have a french link eggbutt with rounded rings, it’s from Lorenzini.

A barn mate has a double-jointed Stubben with a lozenge with rounded rings. If the lozenge would work, that might be something to look into. I bought it for her at the Spruce Meadows Tack Shop, but they don’t seem to have it on their website.

ETA: It’s a regular double-jointed bit. It’s not one of the locking ones that Stubben also makes.

Here’s an eggbutt with a center lozenge. It seems to have rounded rings:
