Flax Seed Prices...... Unbelievable!

My local feed dealer just got my bag in. It was a little more pricey than last time I ordered it. It went up 65 cents!!

So I paid $20.65 for a 50 pound bag.

You realize this is a very old thread that was just bumped by an online feed store spamming?

The funniest part is they posted on this thread about outrageous prices, and when I checked theirs, I almost choked on my ginger beer!

Your prices are outrageous. I can get 50 lbs for 22$ no way would I pay 89.99$ for flax. Pretty obvious you’re trying to sell you’re products. No other reason to bump old threads all about flax. One would of been plenty.

You are right, those prices are insane.

They advertise non GMO flax. Hey guess what! There is no GMO flax just like there is no GMO oats.

So tacky advertising, crazy prices, and spammers.

Now that you mention it I did see a whole bunch of flax seed threads and wondered what was going on. Guess I didn’t notice the date. Still a good price though!!

I just bought some for 22 bucks for a 50# bag in Winchester, Virginia at Southern States!

Wonder if the Southern States in Purcellville has them? I need a new bag.

I’ve always found some stuff is more expensive, but worth a shot!

I feel rather stupid right now for spending money on something I ‘knew’ wasn’t smart. I ordered Manna Pro Simply Flax from Amazon. Why, Because I have Prime w/free shipping. First time to feed flax, I feed TC Lite so I thought my black/white pain could use more fat for her coat. Anyway, Simply Flax arrives, I see on the label,it is guaranteed fresh for 12 months, well, 12 months from what? There is no date on the pail!! And then, there is no smell at all to the flax when I opened the pail. Like said, I feel stupid, who buys horse supplements from Amazon that have most likely been sitting on their shelves for years!
I know Amazon takes returns, no problems, but in my rural area, that is more trouble than it’s worth. I can buy whole flax from a local feed store so that’s what I will do from now on, even with inconvenient grinding

I get supps from Amazon. Biotin and Cosequin, actually.

I have fed and grinded up flax for over a year fed horse a 1/2 cup a day. I stopped buying flax and feeding over a year ago. Really saw no difference since i quit feeding it , last 4 months of feeding it horse was leaving it in bottom of feed bucket. So every few days would have a big pile of flax in bottom of bucket. Wetting feed to make it stick was just a big turn off , he’d rather eat hay then eat feed tainted with flax.

He gets a good vitamin mineral supplement that he will eat no problem,so not bothering with flax which he got tired of eating. Not sure on the Amazon ordering ,but what you ordered might not be fresh from what you discribe.

I hope Amazon monitors for freshness on products where it matters. But I fault Manna Pro for stating its product is guaranteed for 12 months and then putting no date on the pail.
